Resumed mission 2007:smoke Mayweather/Hatton. Cotto/Margarito. Pacquiao/Hatton. Pacquiao/Cotto. At my age i just gotta have it & have more & Vegas is a must do for any fight fan at least once in his life::deal
Early 80s,used to watch the delayed viewing on a Saturday afternoon or sportsnight Wednesday(Hagler,Holmes,Hearns)then my dads mate Prince Rodney won the british light middle title and i really got into the sport from then, watched every fight i can even when on holiday.Think its about 25 years.Prince Rodney is still my favorite fighter!Top bloke and will always give you a a good talk about his fights if you show intrest. If not for the eye problem would have won more than just the British.
Have been a fan of boxing since the Ali and spinks rematch, was 9 yrs old and my dad telling me about Ali. One of my earliest childhood memories was Ali -frazier 1,i was only 2,didnt watch the fight, but dad took me n my brothers to the pub, whilst he went in to watch the fight i was enjoying the slops in the beer glasses that people left behind:barf in the beer garden..........and my love for beer was born,,,hmmm might have 1 now:yep
My first memory of boxing was "the rumble in the jungle". I was around 6 or 7yrs old at the time. My older brothers were getting excited about this "monster" of a boxer [Foreman] taking on the old former champ [Ali]. There was no way the old former champ could win this fight, no-way. Anyhow that was me hooked on boxing ever since. If my enthusiasm for the sport had have matched my ability I would have been world champion, but alas it doesn't work like that
I was brought up by my Dad with tales of Joe Louis and Rocky Marciano. Became a real fan whe Lionel Rose shut Gattelari's big mouth and went on to take the World Title from Harada in Tokyo... ****..... That must be over 40 ****ing years....:admin Do I win a prize?
The first time boxing caught hold of my imagination was when I was at Junior school about 25 years ago. Everybody was talking about Hagler vs Leonard, and believe me I mean everyone. Elite boxers really were household names back in the day before PPVs marginalised the sport. Shame really!
