1974-75 my pop pop loved boxing and wanted a grandson to share that love with! So thankful for him and for the sport he helped me fall in love with.

He passed away in the mid 90’s and so did my love and enthusiasm for boxing. By sheer accidental 2005 I stumbled across the Ricky Hatton vs Kostya Tszyu fight and the enthusiasm of the crowd and the exciting fight (I know some disagree) made me fall back in love with boxing. Been hooked ever since

In my mid 50's and remember watching fights on the Wide World of Sports as early as 1973. But at that time also I happened to watch "Enter the Dragon ". At the Drive in and fell in love with the "Martial Arts" (But actually Isshin Ryu Karate)which I studied religiously until about 1979 where I watched R Leonard vs W.Benitez closely and saw the absolute brilliance of world class boxing and began to drift away slowly from Karate to Boxing. Especially so after sparring a local world class local amateur fighter who allowed me to use my kicks and strikes ( I thought I had the advantage me, with my kicks, strikes and throws vs a fighter only using his fist? How could I loose,,,,,, right?) Needless to say all the point fighting tournaments I had won did NOT prepare me for what a boxer could do and had my head handed to me quickly lol. From that time on. Boxing replaced Karate in my heart and that hasn't changed in 40yrs or so.

51 now, been following it since 1983 seriously, though I do have rather lengthy lapses in interest from time to time.

Started watching as a little kid in the 70s, was a complete maniac about it in the 80s, then on and off since then.

Since 1985 ish. Had boxes of magazines I'd collected over the years until fairly recently. Loved reading about the old timers but was never much of a historian. I'm always impressed at how informed the posters are here in classic.

I have been following and watching boxing since the 1st Ali vs Patterson fight in 1965. I also have read about and watched fights of the all time greats from the past. I have always had a passion for the fight game and sports. I always enjoy participating and reading the posts. We have good participants, and great posts.
