Did anybody have a stopwatch out, measuring how long it took for it to turn into a Pacweather fight?

Usually when they lose people say their prime is over. Which is quite annoying. If the Pacquiao Mayweather fight ever happens, whoever loses, people will say they were past their prime.

    depends from fighter to fighter.

prime is such and ambiguous term. a boxer is at their physical peak for a couple of years or so, some last longer, some last shorter but they peak at some point.

    take hopkins for example.

    green from 88-96.
    peak from 97-02.
    champion from 95-present.
    past prime from 05-present
    shot not happened yet.

great fighters rarely suffere unavenged defeats in their peak to non-great fighters.

you can have people who get to a stage where losses no longer count and only victories do (hopkins, holyfield, jones etc.)

I don't believe all fighters have one definite prime. Holyfield looked better in the rematch against Lewis than in his fights with Moorer or Bobby Chyz. Ali was in his physical prime when he struggled against Doug Jones, that version of Ali would have been knocked out by Foreman IMO.

Some fighters get their prime beating out of them in a hard fight. Others through not taking care of there weight, diet etc
