Should Pavlik stay at 160 for one or two years? or even three? if the Ghost can make the weight

    If he fought in 2008
    # 1 Giovanni Lorenzo
    # 2 John Duddy
    # 3 Arthur Abraham
    If fought in 2009
    # 4 Winky Wright
    # 5 Felix Sturm
    # 6 Andy Lee
    # 7 Sergio Mora
Would that be enough to considererd a great middleweight? and having cleaned out the middle weights before moving up to 168.
Or would in be better for Pavlik move up to 168 in 2009 and take on
    # 1 Joe Calzaghe
    # 2 Mikkel Kessler
    # 3 Lucian Bute
    # 4 Carl Froch
    :deal
My take is Pavlik should wait two years to gain experience and grow into 168:hat by doing that he might miss out in fighting Joe Calzaghe but guys like Kessler and Bute will still be around to take on and beat:good

He's 25. He wants to be out by 30. He's gonna clean house at 160, which may take a year. So by next spring of '09, he's 168. He's now 26. 2 years here & up to Lt. HW & now 28. 2 years, at the most at Lt HW & he retires. How many belts in how many wt divisions, I couldn't tell you. You think I have a crystal ball or something?

He should stay for awhile, but Mora won't be an option after Forrest deals with him.

. . . for as long as he's not having problems with his weight.

If I were him, I would stay away from 168 for a while.

But it has been rough on him. I think he can't wait to go at 168.

In order to "clean out" 160 he only needs to fight Abraham and Winky. After that there is a HUGE gap in talent.

Pavlik should stay at 160 for as long as he can make the weight, he is still young.

How long should Pavlik stay at middle weight? As long as he can make the weight, and as long as his great rival Abraham can make the weight.
Abraham vs Pavlik the fight at middle/supermiddle.
Even Kessler vs Calzaghe wasnt that promising and full of expectations as Abraham vs Pavlik is.

Theres only 2 fights out there for him now at Middleweight and thats Wright and Abraham. If he gets past them then its time to move up.

Calzaghe is obviously the most lucrative fight but i cannot imagine Arum wants any part of it. He knows that Calzaghe will be finished by the end of the year so its nobody can give him grief for keeping Pavlik away from a retired fighter.

In 2 years time Froch, Bute, Pacal and Kessler could be bigger names than they are now but I can just see Pavlik fighting ok contenders for a long time. To much money to be made from a white american that can punch, to much to be lost if he gets put in with someone that can outbox him!

He should definetelly stay at MW in 2008 and unificate with Sturm and Abraham. After that it would be nice to see him against Andy Lee.

Wright and Forrest would also be nice, but these are longshots. After that there is no one left, unless Greene, Duddy, Mora, emerge as strong contenders at the near future, which they are not today.

Anyway, 2009 should be his final year at 160lbs.

Minus Duddy, I think you're on point.

Lorenzo, Duddy, Sturm, Mora is not necessary. Andy Lee will be, so him, Winky and Abraham -> then get his ass kicked by Kessler. Pavlik is tailor made for Kess.
