How long should you be able to jump rope continously to be ideally fit enough to compete at amateur level,
Atm im doing 1k or so skips in a row, which is 9-10 mins?

I jump rope for 25 minutes, but I could go longer. Once you get good at it, once you find that certain pace, you can go for a while. I still mess up every now and then though

I don't go long, just fast. Like 8 segments of a minute just super super super fast. Sprinting helps you more in the ams than real long distance stuff, you don't have the time to get really tired but you do have to have a good work rate in these short 3-4 round (sometimes 2 minute rounds) comps.

I skipped 30 minutes straight once (it was pretty tough) but my trainer told me its better to keep to 3 min rounds and not force yourself too much, after your stamina and legs have improved to a certain level its just pointless i guess. remember you are not training to skip, you are training to box, use your time effectively.

  6. i could go for 40 minutes but my shin splints usually stop me at 20 ( 40 minutes at a steadier pace )
