Who else is it going to be? Pac and Floyd retire. Its either going to be Khan or Ward. And going by the improvements he showed last night, i'm going with Khan
This post is proof of the lack of boxing knowledge that is NOW running this broad, and the reason that many of the better posters only visit here from time to time. Maidana fights nothing like Bradley and alexander and it would be totally different fights for Khan. Not all fighters depend on power punching and non effective pressure to win fights. Different styles equal different fights. Faster hands better foot movement I guess count for nothing. Maidana is a very limited fighter, that was only able to land two TYPES of punches not two punches, as you seemed to have gotten from my post. What should I expect from fanboys.
Wrong. The reason many of the better posters, such as myself, only visit here on occassion, is cause of the predominance of insults, highlighted in your last sentence. The General isnt a boxing forum so much as a playground where socially disfunctional ****s like BB Boxer take their frustration at their pathetic lifes out on boxers and posters
Some statement. Don't get me wrong, he may well become what this thread title suggests but i just prefer to see more from him against quality opposition before making such commitments to his eventual greatness.:think
Dude - you can't blame people on a forum for jumping all over such a bold statement. In answer to your question who else after Pac and floyd? There is numerous talent out there just embarking on their careers within the sport. Fighters such as saul alverez.. etc. Same could be said for him. Could he not be pound for pound material in say 3 years. Maybe so. Difference is here is you are coming on a boxing board with a contentious opinion about khan being lb 4 lb no.1 in the near future. Expect some opinions not quite to your liking. For the record i reckon alexander will give khan fits.. Lets see how he does aginst these guys before we start talking lb 4 lb ffs.
I wouldnt say that your one of the posters that Im talking about being that you havent been around here very long. Insults as you call them come from frustrations alright but that comes from people saying really bad opinions that then acting as if its fact. Like the poster that I was talking about who said that Khan would distroy all the elite fighters based on barely getting out of tonights fights. Not to mention that those fighter fight nothing like Maidana. The lack of knowledge that this posters have causes alot of frustration for posters that know what they are talking about, not saying that, that means they can pick the winners of fighters, but they are smart enough to know that you cant pick fights based on what fighter A did to fighter b meaning that he will then beat fighter C. It seems that these posters defend thier position by calling out "HATERS" with no valid points to back thier opinions, all they know is that if someone doesnt agree they must be a hater. Khan is a ok fighter that will get better, he is also VERY flawed and will have a hard time winning fights vs guys like Marquez, Bradley, Alexander and Berto making the mistakes that he made tonight. Because truth be told Maidana isnt a top fighter, he is a strong fighter that will push elite fighters but will lose most of the time vs them IE bika, andrade, Maranda, Margo. all those guys lack the talent to change their game when what they are doing isnt working. Khan also lacks that to this point, im not saying that he cant get it, but its not likely. So as long as his gameplan is working he will be ok, but once he gets in a fight were its not I fear that he will not adjust and will lose. Guys that are top 5 p4p can adjust to whatever the other guy is doing, that doesnt mean that they will win all thier fighters becasue only one fighter in the top five is unbeatten at this point and that is Mayweather.
Khan was impressive tonight but still he has too many *****s in his armor to pull through without further losses (if he plans on fighting the best) unless he seriously improves on those weaknesses, you have to admit he was almost done tonight and relied heavily on survival mode for the last part of the fight.
