knowing what it could do for crawfords career...would arum let him?

im fairly sure Floyd/haymon approached arum about this years ago...and bob wanted to promote him as the "clean cut all American" kid....and that had something to do with their decision to split from arum

I wonder if arum would change his stance and let Crawford go the villain route?

there are some indications already if you want to look for them. the whole "did you get what you was looking for" speech after stopping dierry jean and the mean mugging after knocking out lundy, then you've got the taunting in the 12th round vs postol too. he'll have to do more if he wants to fully turn heel tho.

 

Crawford doesn't seem like the type of dude who pretends to be what he's not. Crawford has a mean streak that shows itself at times but I don't think he is going to adopt some sort of fake personality to increase interest in him.

 

Boxing is show-biz and you have to do what you have to do to sell tickets. Floyd couldn't draw flies to turds in the first part of his career, but he figured out how to sell to the masses and look what happened. Not saying that would work for Crawford but if he wants to be some kind of ppv star he will have to do something.
