I think he is done, for real, He barely got By DLH in his first and last Mega fight and DLH was not in his better years, a rematch really is still a pick em fight I think Floyd has no where to hide these days, if he fights DLH and some how gets by whats left? he doesnt want Cotto or Margarito and I am sure he knows a rematch with Hatton wouldnt do anything favorable to his legacy he is stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Don't know, but I'm hoping he stays out for good unless he decides to face the top contenders at Welterweight.

3 months, tops, though I'm hoping it's for permanent.

In time for the De La Hoya rematch. It's a publicity stunt to build up interest in the DLH fight because nobody is interested anymore and Floydy's all about the money as we know. I don't think many people will fool for it.

It's his 3rd retirement, isn't it? The 4th coming after the DLH win.

Cotto-Mayweather will be so good in 2009, but I can't pick a winner, it's too early...

Apparently Floyd Mayweather is trying to match Ray Leonard's number of retirements.

They need more time for this "retirement" marketing plan to get around the boxing and sports world.

Get people talking about it on Mike and Mike and PTI or whatever, and then say, yeah, the rematch is still on.

Mmm...possibly a day, with the reliable old "I was misquoted!" thrown in, perhaps.

This time his "retirement" may be real.

Floyd seems to be able to generate money w/o boxing now.

It may be a ploy for more money in an Oscar rematch, but maybe not.

Floyd is and has been the best fighter in boxing for a few years now and an Oscar rematch would have given boxing a mainstream jolt.

But I aint gonna miss him if he leaves.

I don't think for one minute he intends to mix it up with the best anymore.

He's gonna cherry pick until he does retire and seems like he may be more of a hold up for other big fights.

Great fighter and has fought the best for most of his career but now I've grown tired of him.

Unless he fights Cotto or Mosley or someone similar he can stay retired.
