To be honest Crolla wasn't great against Burns and looked to be struggling near the end of that fight, Burns wasn't even good that fight either. Then his last fight he won by really just old-manning, fired little tippy tap shots at certain points in the rounds to steal and take the rounds. Compared to how he used to fight, it's clear that all the hard fights have taken the toll and he's definitely on the decline, he's a 'shot' fighter in that sense now. I think its likely he will get stopped, you can be as tough as you want but Crolla doesn't fight to survive, he fights to win so doesn't have that tough defensive style that some fighters who are tough revert to when there over the hill. Bottom line is, he's looking shop worn now and I think his resistance is going.
"One of boxing's good guys! genuinely such a nice nice guy, you don't get many of them but Crolla definitely is one, always got time for everyone, really really down to earth and a good all around guy, he really deserves this for being such a nice guy" Repeat x 12 rounds.
Turns out walking backwards with a high guard is just as bad! Can just imagine Gallagher's thought process, 'Instead of coming forwards, you'll go backwards, he'll never expect it!'
Hope he retires now, his resistance has gone now imo which is what I thought when he fought Yordan, too many tough fights and that was a bad knockout - kind of landed on back of head but high up so not surprised he was how he was. He looked a mess at the end though and he'd only been 4 rounds, didn't offer up anything offensively either. Do a Groves and hang them up on the biggest stage. Also against a fighter who's going down as an ATG, no point having another fight now, what is there to achieve? He's done it all, fought everyone from top domestic fighters, to multi-weight world champions and now a P4P top fighter, done all of that and would of earnt good money. Call it a day now imo and be proud of what you've achieved, spend time with the family.
