Freddie Roach has recently made the statement that Pacquiao's lateral movement and footspeed is the key to the fight. He specified in saying that this was their ultimate advantage; (to paraphrase) "..Pacquiao's footspeed will be even greater significant than Pacquiao's handspeed.."

Billy Graham, Hatton's former trainer couldn't seem to disagree more. Graham said that if Pacquiao tries to keep Hatton out all night he "..hasn't got a prayer.." and that "..it isn't ****ing happening.."

How long will Pacquiao's footwork keep Hatton off him?

i dont think he means Manny wont ba making exchanges, I think he meant Pac wont be cornered everytime the hitman makes advances. Pac may even be doing the offensive more often than not.

In fact, Roach has been saying that Hatton won't even touch Pacquiao - but that's not the point.

OF COURSE their will be exhanges (even though we're already getting votes that Pacquiao will be able to dance around Hatton, like a stunt driver weaving through cones).

The question is; HOW LONG? That-is-it. HOW LONG? Just the question.

I could give a **** what somebody was trying to say. I don't see an answer up there. ^

Hatton's own footwork is something that is significantly underrated, especiaaly by those who call Hatton nothing more than a face first brawler. I've been criticising Hatton all along, both for his opposition for a big chunk of his career and for being a dirty fighter, but I'd be lying if I didn't admit that I think Hatton has very good footwork, particularly cutting off the ring. Pac won't be able to keep Hatton off him for long by using movement alone, far more important for him will be consistantly landing first

I put 3 rounds but im inclined to think that Hatton wont do too much damage in the 1st round as Pac will be hitting and moving but by the 2nd round Hatton will be getting closer.

Hattons footwork is underrated and he will close down and catch Pac at some point but I can't believe that Pacs camp hsn't worked on something for that eventuality.

Less than one round. As hard as Mayweather jr tried to make it a clean fight, it ended up being a wrestling match that Mayweather had to participate in. Ricky has fast feet himself and has strong legs, so I don't think Manny will an advantage if any with his foot work. They both do non rhythmic hopping around with their footwork as opposed to the regular orthodox type of moving around. The big problem for Ricky will be avoiding shots as we all know he has little to no head movement and walks in lunges/jumps in with his hands down, a bad habit he's been doing for a long long time.

Listen to some people and he's Godzilla with laser beams for eyes. I like the guy and he may well beat Hatton but some people have really lost the plot over Pac.
