bruno was a very big heavyweight. so was ruddock. carl williams. tony tubbs. tyrell biggs. larry holmes was still agood fighter when he fought tyson. he give holyfield hell 5 years later

bonecrusher smith had no intention on fighting tyson. he just wanted to survive. he never made any attempt to win. so you can't hold that against him.

wathc the tucker fight and you will see how technically sound tyson was

before being knocked out by Buster Douglas, Tyson went the distance with James Tillis, Mitch Green, Bonecrusher Smith, and Tony Tucker

How is your answer related to anything I wrote?

Tyson went UD12 with Tony Tucker. How does this fight show how sound prime Tyson was?

I broke my cardinal rule of getting into a debate about Tyson. I slipped, but I will reply to this point.

Nope, I have watched every Tyson fight multiple times. Tyson, Lennox, and Wlad have by far the most "entertaining" careers from top to bottom. I highly recommend getting their career dvd sets on the cheap. Watching things in hindsight with commentary is worth the price alone.

About Tony Tucker. We were cheated. Tony Tucker could have been a very, very good heavyweight and maybe great if he would applied himself 100%. But, in regards to him vs Tyson and Lennox, both fights were not as close as they appear on paper.

And using him as a comparison for Wlad is just incorrect. Though both have good jabs (Wlad's is monumentarily superior to Tucker), one thing that Tucker never did was use his size and weight. He may have been 6'5 with a good jab, but he never applied his size. The "Manny" Wlad does. He hugs, he holds, and puts his weight on people. But one thing that is being disregarded about Wlad, is his holding diminishes greatly as the fight goes on. He starts pushing much, much more and is also adding combos right off the push. Tucker never employed any of this kind of strategy.

And in the Tyson fight Tucker showed a very similar defense pattern like Wlad: Blocking with his hand, getting his face out of range, clinching.

Of course, Wlad is taller and would give Tyson more trouble than Tucker.

Tony Tucker TKOed Buster Douglas by the way.

About 2 rounds, before Tyson would be lying on the canvas

I said that Tyson had problems with tall fighters and Wlad would be Tyson's tallest opponent.

Wlad would also come in with the weakest chin and worst mental toughness out of all the tall fighters Tyson has faced.:deal

Vitali would maybe have lasted 3-4 rounds, Wlad 1-2.

The mental toughness line you keep claiming is pretty played out.

Do you comprehend how much mental toughness you have to have to hit rock bottom as much as Wlad has and come back stronger?

You don't do what he has done without being a mentally tough son of a *****. Period. End of story.

I played D1 basketball. I have seen great players my entire life hit bottom. Very, very few are tough enough to bounce back.

Wlad obviously has more toughness than you or I, but at the top level he lacks it, anyone who watches fights as closely as I have, could see that. What keeps him at the top, could be a number of things, weak division, very powerful, highly skilled, top notch jab, Manny Steward in his corner, rarely faces a poweful puncher and when he does he usually hits the canvas numerous times.

I never said Wlad lacked heart, but the fact that he rarely prevails in the face of danger, I feel says something about his character and toughness or lack there of it.

I think I am just done with stating the obvious.

50-3 with 44 knockouts and a gold medal really doesn't suggest that he rarely prevails in danger. Pretty idiotic...
