I agree in terms of match ups HBO>PBC, no doubt. It does have to be said that the fact PBC is important.
Provo vs Matthysse beats all 3. Guerrero is a 135 lber fighting 2 divisions higher then his weight. Broner Porter was a god match up not a great one. PEDerson is only know as a steroid cheat and someone who loses whenever he steps hardly earth shattering fights.
Yea sorry I forgot about Provo Matthysse. And that's a terrible summary of those fights. Guerrero at the time was a legit name and was seen as a big test for the rising star in Thurman. Peterson has a win over Khan and many had been wanting the fight with Garcia for some time(although it wasn't for the belts so it does diminish it a little). And as you said Porter-Broner was a good match up.
HBO has been putting up good shows this year, really enjoyed most of them. PBC started off well then sort of declined, the problem is that the matchmaking has been totally **** resulting in dull, uninteresting fights. PBC needs to take off, and thus it must start with exciting fights to get people INTO the sport. However, it more than likely has driven people away from it.
The UFC card featuring ronda rousey was actually the most watched UFC card ever. It destroyed the boxing. UFC is catching boxing up slowly and there is only one man to blame for this....Floyd Mayweather. His boring style has put people off. His constant ducking of fighters like Khan has put people off. His arrogant attitude has put people off. Sooner this chump retires the better for this sport
The Ronda Rousey undercard PEAKED at 1,599,000 viewers. http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/20...190-preliminary-bouts-on-fox-sports-1/442841/ The ESPN card featuring Garcia and Malignaggi PEAKED at 1.5 million viewers. http://www.fightnews.com/Boxing/gar...est-boxing-audience-on-espn-since-1998-300669 So ... I don't think "destroyed" is the right word. More like, KINDA THE SAME. :goodatsch
You actually like Cruz? he has NO POWER and to me is just a boring swarmer that can't hurt anyone that boxes professionally.
Nop, I'm not even interested in that fight personally, just listed it because it's probably what most people are looking forward to.
You blame the one guy who consistently pulls in the biggest numbers on PPV as the guy who has made boxing less popular?
