No I blame the guy who ducked his opponents like a coward e.g. Pac and Khan. And when he finally fought pac, he gave one of the most boring displays ever seen, hugging and running like a coward. That's who I blame
You said Floyd ducked Amir Khan. You're actually below the level of intelligence of someone I'm willing to discuss boxing with. But please do continue to use terms like owmage. Makes you look a real winner
Really? Hitting "i" instead of "o" because I'm on a phone? That's it? I'll refer you to my previous statement about what you should do.
Can we quit the free boxing, network tv bull****? Garbage fights are garbage fights, u aren't getting any new fans with Shumenov-Flores, Wilder-Molina, and Garcia-some washed up has been. Al's putting so many of these boring, uninspiring showcase fights, that when he actually puts together intriguing match ups like Broner-Porter, they get anemic ratings
Those fights are bad. But the fact is that HBO in the past have also put up **** fights. Pac-Algieri and Mayweather-Berto on PPV for christs sake. No one is arguing that HBO has made better match ups than PBC. What people are arguing(correctly imo) is that PBC has just as much value as HBO given the fact that it's free vs a subscription.
Pbc came out with so much fire, new camera angles, new walkouts, in the coattails of the biggest boxin pPV of all time, and basically set in a time where EVERYONE'S eyes were on boxing, they were supposed to bring boxing back to the mainstream, and what did we get? A cold fart It was there for the taking, and Al blew it
Provo vs. Matthysse was a good action fight, but it was more of a mismatch in terms of the underdog having a realistic chance to win than Porter-Broner. Anyone with a quarter of a brain new a face-first guy was going to get beat down by Matthyse ... what's your point? And what about HBO mismatches like GGG-Monroe, Kova-Mohammedi, Alvarado-Rios, boring fights like Shiming, etc. Even the exciting slugfests like Canelo-Kirland and Cotto-Geale weren't anywhere close to 50-50 ... the guy who was expected to win won by knockout, and early. HBO cherry picks a fight or two per month (with an undercard fight), whereas PBC is practically weekly (sometimes more than one show per week) spread over a ton of networks -- from several main event level fights that would easily fit on HBO or Showtime to lesser showcase fights on the non-network outlets. If HBO tried to put on this many fights, its number of mismatches (and they've had their share, as noted above) would also increase. I'll take Garcia-Paulie on ESPN over a 24-0 guy against a 18-4-1 setup opponent like we almost always got on Friday Night Fights. If the theorum is that every PBC fight is supposed to be a blockbuster PPV event, then, no, you're not going to get what you expect.
I agree actually. They have lost A LOT of their hype. I really hope they have a Welterweight tournament, that would be awesome.
