How lucky are we to say we have witnessed Oleksandr Usyks career?

I agree, but it shows how good of a stretch Dubois had during these 2 years. We also still don't know how his career develops.

Some random dude on the chair at home is just as credible as the WBC saying Bermane Stiverne was world heavyweight champion. When everyone knew Wlad was the actual champion.

You can't logically say Dubois was legitimately a champion without saying Usyk deserved to be stripped for giving Fury a rematch.

I always love it when a great is a cleanskin. We often hear athletes shouldn’t be role models, but if one fighter is a worthy role model right now, it’s got to be Usyk. Always classy. Family man. Refuses to partake in insanity at press events, just looks at the other guy acting like an asshat and stays silent. Knocks out a guy who has been nothing but rude and disrespectful to him, immediately goes to hug him and give him a pep talk.

pure class. What a legend. We are lucky indeed.

It's not only for what he's achieved in boxing but for what he brings to the sport and how he conducts himself outside the ring with such class, and how he represents his country going through a war. He's truly one of the greats. I don't know how anybody can say a bad word about him.

What's even more amazing is he has done this while traveling to his opponents home turf in the vast majority of these fights.

How lucky are we to see Usyk and Inoue at the same time?

Can we just take a moment and acknowledge that the current heavyweight division is bad? Dubois is bad compared to historical elites. Bum Joshua barely cracks the top 50 historically. Gypsy Clown is past it. Wilder is a paper champ. All you needed was a blown-up cruiserweight to clean out the entire division, and that fighter is Usyk. Very good.

Literally, Usyk would go fight at bridgerweight/cruiserweight and he would have a harder time than against these bad heavyweights.

It's been terrible watching British domination get all wiped out in their back yard.

I think Usyk is a once in a generation fighter but not once in a lifetime. He's in the conversation with Lennox, Tyson, Foreman, Ali, Marciano etc.

Not to take anything away but part of me thinks he's gone through a weak generation like hot knife through butter.

Solid mid tier generation. Destroys 2000s, 2010s, anything before 1960s. Mid 80s beside Tyson was very poor. I'd put it third to 90s, 70s.

I've enjoyed the hell out of it, and I'm glad I decided to get into this sport just before he became a two division champion. His fight with AJ was the first boxing event I ever tuned in to watch live. His journey to being the first undisputed heavyweight since Lennox Lewis took a bit longer than I thought it would, but man, what a ride! :ggg
