How many "A" level fighters in their prime did Tyson face?

Lennox Lewis was 37 when he fought Tyson in 2002, I hardly think at 37 years old he was in his prime. Nice bit of misty eyed thinking there!

 

Lennox's style was all wrong for Mike, he beats him 9 out of 10 times.

 

tyson didnt beat any A level guys in there prime, but he had a level perfromances, like his destruction of larry holmes, who went on later to easily dominate the same ray mercer the basically fought lewis to a draw, pinklon thomas and trevor berbick two, tyson was the truth a one point

 

I agree. Wanted to point out that Tyson never fought Lewis in his prime.

 

Also, Holyfield was 34 when fought Tyson in 1996 which was years after he first won the Heavyweight title so again he wasn't in his prime either!

 

speaking of Mercer he has a fight scheduled for jan 2009

 

Tyson beat a prime Bruno, BoneCrusher Smith and M. Spinks who were both world class or if you want A+ fighters.

I agree that Bruno was not A class but he still spanked Lewis for all but one of the rounds when they fought - hardly makes Lennox look great does it.

 

What is an A+ Fighter? If you are world class i.e. reached the top 3 rankings and fought for world titles then I consider you an A+ fighter in your divsion.

Bruno was no doubt world class. He won all his eliminators and only lost to very good fighters and except for the second tyson fight was always competitive.

 

Prime Tyson was unstoppable. Lewis would get ****ed up

That's true to some extent but that was more about styles as well. Lewis always had problems with good jabbers, not swarmers. He also had the power to keep Tyson away & catch him coming in.
