Well that depends upon who the champion is!

Really interesting question actually, who would have been the 168 champ around this time. Probably LaMotta in which case Sugar could have hoovered that one up. But if more titles means more justice, Sugar might be contending with the likes of Marshall, Charles, Moore, Burley at these in-between weights and get his head handed to him, in as much as this is ever possible for Sugar.

I wonder how long he could have held at 140?

he can also win 135 and 140...he beat angott the best 135 pounder that time...

i even consider robinson as a top 15 all-time Lightweight...maybe even top 10...a young robinson may have beaten a prime arguello using his skills

Bloody hell J.G, you are getting bored mate.

Do alphabet titles come into the equation??

Assuming we are talking of Robinson in his day, it would be fair to suggest he'd win the

    JW/W titles.

    W/W titles.

    sW/W titles.

    M/W titles.

    SM/W titles.

    5 out of the 6 LH/W titles.

    2 out of the 6 H/W titles.

Containing the WBA, WBC, WBO, WBF, WBU, IBF, IBC, IBO, IBU, IBA, IB****ed... etc... its anyones guess what SRR might have in title belts over his 20 year career.

I think its fair to assume he might be recognised as a champion of sorts.

Then again, he might be a case of the local NUTTHUGGERS????

J.G, Sugar is a legend. He could accomplish anything.

    No he isn't.

D'you know how many great fighters have the potential to be ahead of him?

Duran, Ike Williams, Sweet Pea, Beau Jack, Joe Gans, Benny Leonard, Tony Canzoneri, Carlos Ortiz, Packey McFarland, Sammy Angott, Bob Montgomery, Lew Tendler, Barney Ross.

Just to name a few, that's 14 names right there.

hey, he beat angott in his prime

I do know that under today's conditions he would have also held the lightweight title. Angott was the champ and Robinson beat him but it was a non-title bout.

I pretty sure Robinson would have that WBA heavyweight scrap after beating Ruiz lol.

In todays era, any were from welterweight to heavyweight, all with the "Right" fights of couse.

Jones Jr would never have been a heavyweight champ if it was Lewis in the ring, and not Ruiz.
