He had some sort of car accident that caused the original Bruno I date to be put back.

Stewart was put back a couple of months due to a cut in late 1990.

The original Holyfield fight, in 1991, that was some sort of injury to Iron Mike that caused it's postponement, right?

Was Holyfield II not also postponed due to a Tyson injury?

I was just thinking abot this just now. That's quite a few. Are there more? Do you make anything of this list? Can anyone flesh out the details of the above postponements, or correct me if I am mistaken?

I think he got a cut in traniing for the second fight. Also, was there a fight for the Lewis bout, before they got into a fight? I'd assume so.

The thumb story was supposedly on the up and up. The x-ray appeared and all that there. If there is one that strikes me as bull**** it is the Holyfield II postponement.

It was the Mathis fight that was postponed due to a thumb injury wasnt it? Also they were considering postponing the Douglas fight due to food poisoning Tyson suffered in Japan.

Mathis, I think that is correct. Was that the one that was free to air? The one that was on Fox? Because that was the one.

I think the food-poisoning story was bull****. I think they were after a postponement because Tyson was jetting back to NY and getting ****-faced on his day off. That's what that was, IMO. But he couldn't be doing with the postponement, he just wanted to beat Douglas and get home. This is all made up in my own head, by the way, i've no evidnce one way or the other.

Yes but word on the street was the ticket sales werent doing well, because noone wanted to see Tyson fight another soft opponent after the McNeeley fiasco, so they cancelled the fight which was originally going to the MGM on PPV again.
Tyson didnt show up for training half the time, you never knew what was going to happen with him before a fight. He basically ran on a treadmill to prepare for Golota. He beat up Frank Warren before the Savarese fight. His second career was a big joke on boxng fans, he had no interest in fighting.

Tyson vs Ruddock was originally supposed to happen in November 1989 in Edmonton. He supposedly pulled out of that fight due to chest pain and lost the title to Buster Douglas a couple of months later.

Tyson is not the only fighter guilty of not getting in the ring with Ruddock. Bowe, Holyfield, Michael Moorer, Ray Mercer and others found excuses not to get in the ring with Razor. Tyson probably knew he wouldn't have an easy fight with Ruddock the first time in Edmonton after watching his dismantling of James "Bonecrusher" Smith in 7 rounds.

The Nevada Athletic commission refused to sanction that bout after their brawl and Tyson's embarrassing "I'll **** you till you love me, ******" speech. It took a while before The Pyramid in Memphis, Tennessee could host it.

Or just as likely...Tyson's handlers knew Tyson was coming a little unhinged...and decided on an "easier" fight with Douglas...

Then there's Tyson breaking his hand on Green's head. That caused a post ponement, didn't it?

That original Bruno fight was re-scheduled like 5 times at different venues. Originally, it was going to take place in the UK where Frank has a much better chance. The subsequent dates where one's that had Bruno taking his act on the road, which he had never done before. Bruno fights much better when the crowd is on his side. He probably still loses the fight but probably lands some more punches.

It was real frustrating back then buying tickets to Tyson fights and arranging flights and rooms and such. Those airlines and resorts don't do those things for free.
