[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JfIP-A55h0M[/ame] Yeah, I was quite surprised when I was studying into it. I guess he just had the story with his mother dying, suffering his first loss in x years to Marco Rudolph. I've actually read in various places though that Vernon Forrest was seen as the USA's best hope of winning a gold medal, because he beat Shane Mosley who was seen as the best hope for winning a gold medal before that! Both Manny and Floyd have certain factors working against them. I think Arum genuinely realised what he had in Oscar in terms of fighting ability and PPV revenues which means he didn't really put the backing into Floyd that he should have done in my opinion. I don't get how he didn't become a PPV star right after his destruction of Corrales (now that was an ass whooping!)
No worries man. I didn't expect Oscar to beat Mayweather but he put up a better effort than I thought he was capable of. As for the Pacquaio fight I was 50/50, I didn't even watch the fight I was that worried he could potentially be humiliated. I'm not trying to change you're opinion over whether you consider them ass whoopings, I just don't believe the Mayweather one was.
he just passed the torch that's all it is. Like Dr. J passed the torch to Magic and Larry Bird and they passed it to Kobe and Kobe gon pass it to Lebron
Without Oscar both Floyd and Pacquiao wouldn't be known as huge draws or mega stars. So both should thank Oscar for being mega stars and huge draws.
