There was Brook, who was left with an unusable skull that couldn't even hold up in the welterweight division any more. but before that there was Gaydarbek Gaydarbekov, an Olympic Gold medalist who claims the fight with Golovkin left him unfit to continue in boxing. Dominic Wade hasn't been heard ever since either... No wonder people duck him, Canelo has balls
How can we be sure that those fighters didn't already have inherent weaknesses which were made worse by boxing and which just so happened to be exacerbated by that bout with GGG?
I want to see the look on ****ing Oscars face when his gravy train goes out with his eyes open on his back. Canelo has never been hit as hard as he will be Saturday night
Wade has legal issues which have kept him out of the ring. Daniel Geale was on the way out, ditto Martin Murray, Adama, Macklin and Rubio. Curtis Stevens, Rosado and Monroe are gatekeeper types who's careers would have stagnated due to lack of class regardless of if they fought GGG or not. I'd say Brook was the only one who's career was damaged by fighting GGG and perhaps he'd argue that the payday made is worth the risk.
Proksa was legitimately done in. I disagree with Brook. He fought his two biggest challenges back to back and that's the result he got. Didn't look bad in either fight nor did he have the same injury.
