    served jail time and how long of a period? also how many learned to box in prison?

    Bernard Hopkins boxed as a kid, stopped boxing to live the criminal's life, then went back to boxing in prison.

    Dwight Qawi learned to box in prison. Sonny Liston did as well, and went back to jail early in his career.

    Other guys like Mike Tyson and Diego Corrales went to prison in the middle of their careers, when they were ex-champions, and both won more world titles after getting released.
