How many clues does their respective Kessler fights give us about Ward-Froch?

I just noticed the avatar, funny **** mate, but Wales did choke bigtime against France, they threw it away with their missed kicks:good

 

Just imagine if he did land it when ward was lunging in for a headbutt. beautiful. lights out.

The only major flaw Ward has is that he leans in – he’s a sucker for an uppercut, but his opponents have been appalling at keeping the distance to take advantage of it. He’s also open for the left hook when he jabs, he drops his right a fraction and leans his head over slightly. Green caught him with it once and then stood there like a moron instead of following up.

IIRC, Abraham tapped him a few times early on with that shot – but he gassed out after five, didn’t like Ward’s combination punching and gave up.

Ward is very good, but I’m not sure he’s really shown elite skills outside of the Kessler fight. I’m also not sure Kessler was in the best shape anyway, with his eye and back problems.

Ward looked flat against Green and Bika, and only marginally sparkier against Abraham. He’s had the easiest route through the tournament and hasn’t really impressed me since headbutting Mikkel into a technical decision loss. Maybe against a tougher opponent he’ll make a big statement.

I expect he’ll be wary of Froch’s physical strength and willingness to match Ward’s rough-housing. So there’s no way he’s going to oblige him in a straight-up brawl when he doesn’t have a great chin. He’ll be careful and use the jab to touch Carl, occasionally sneaking in combos and good bodywork.

Froch needs to forget the early rounds and work the body every chance he gets.

Froch's comic book uppercut is unlikely to be effective even if Ward is susceptible to that shot.

Froch has been my favorite fighter for a few years now but Ward is just to classy and will win easily on points.

I think Ward is boring but he is a special fighter imo and it will take something great to beat him. I also think his toughness and durability is seriously underated, he has been down alot in his career (ams and pros) but has become a smart fighter.

 

Carl need's to utilise the Jab, and fight on the back foot...because people assume that Ward will be running and holding....in this fight he won't he will fight the Cobra in the middle of the ring & exchange with him.

He wants to shatter that perception of being a guy who is "AFRAID" to get hit once Carl realises that Ward is not intimidated by him....the Cobra's confidence will begin to disappear.

I'm wondering if that Ward Kessler fight was just one of those nights. I'm hoping that is the case anyway.
