    THE CONTRAST IN CV's is quite astonishing. Calzaghe falls way behind if you take the 2 past their best champs of his ledger.

    Depends how you look it

    for instance for hopkins tito coming up in weight, odh never was a middle and got owned by sturm only to be given a gift going prior fight to hopkins and pavlik came up 10 pounds. Also winky was not the current middle champ when bhop beat him plus he was moving up in weight as well, i think bhop likes to be the bigger man.

    He also lost to calzaghe, and calzaghe moved up to beat him :think quite astounding i agree

    If we discount the fact that Hopkins was a clear underdog against TITO.

    TITO wiped out a natural middle in Joppy prior to that.

    I guess we shuld discount Haglers win vs Hearns Hearns was a blown up Welkter wasnt he ? lol

    The thing that is interesting is that When Calzaghe fought his opposition, and when Bernard and Jones fought theirs.

    Did Jones really have to fight Tarver? after winnign the heavy? the answer is no.

    Calzaghe claims there is no one left to beat,.....who exactly did he beat?

    He only has 2 Old aged pensioners on his RESUME who have any credibility.

    Go fight Chad Dawson or even have a domestic dustup with FROCH.

    Joe is the best risk manager in the business he learnt well with F Warren.

    when calzaghe beat hopkins , hopkins was a former champ and not a champ of any belt that i am aware of at light heavy.

    i do not remember winky wright ever winning a middleweight belt.

    light middle champ for sure , but i do not think he has ever been anything but a 1 division champ.

    and the only belt mercado ever held was the one he used to hold up his trousers.

    Wow bud i can see this is a calzaghe hate thread and its a bit of a fail because joe beat both f them and beat hops before hops win against pavlik.

    anyway as you brought it up haggler-hearns was the middleweight champ vs the light midlleweight champ hearns hadn't been a welterweight for 4 years and 8 fights so that again is a fail considering hearns went onto become middle weight, super middleweight and also minor cruiserweight titles.

    add on the fact he was 6'1 he was never a blown up welterweight when he fought haggler :rofl

    I suppose paul williams is a blown up welter weight :think or is he a middle who can boil himself down to welter :deal

    I dont see a big difference between BHOP and Calzaghes ex/current world champ victories. I think people get blinded by the name of Tito and Hoya but these guys were smaller and had a significant size disadvantage.

    Agreed. Plus the fact people go on about age when they fought when the fact is Calzaghe was old and not at his best either, its a good victory looking at the fight after and what he done to Pavlik!

    Yeah but look more deeply into them. Guys like Mike McCallum were finished and he was way above his best weight when Jones beat him, Hopkins was very green at this point.

    And for Hopkins, Winky came up from 154/160 to 170/175, Pavlik came up from 160 to 170. Trinidad came up from 154 only recently prior to taking on B-Hop, and is a natural 147. De La Hoya was a natural 147/154 at this point, and lost to Felix Sturm at 160 prior to taking on Hopkins.

    Your not the brightest tool are you.

    If hearns was a former light middle Champ what was Trinidad?

    He beat VArgas at light middle(KO)a big light middle
    David REID kod Light middle.

    Hassin Cherrifi? Joppy?? Trinidad started at Welter yes but hes a big guy 5"11 and was excellent at middleweight.

    He just face an ATG.

    I agree Mccullum was past his best just like Jones and Hopkins were when Joe faced them.

    But the problem for Joe is he has no one else on his resume to bail him out!!

    Jones Hopkins have many names!!! ROFL

    Lets look at Calzaghes names: REID (had just been schooled by Malinga) prior to their fight, Eubank(took fight at 1 week notice when scheduled to fight at Lght Heavy), Brewer been bashed about by Echols, Mitchell (been beaten twice before faced Joe)

    You can't defend his opposition unfortunately no matter how hard you try.

    Sugundo Mercado, never held a World title as far as i know.

    How many current/former champs plus nobodies did B-Hop,Jones and Calzaghe lose or draw* against.

    JONES

    Montell Griffin
    Antonio Tarver
    Antonio Tarver {for a second time}
    Glen Johnson
    Joe Calzaghe

    B-HOP

    Clinton Mitchell
    Roy Jones Jnr
    Segundo Mercado*
    Jermain Taylor
    Jermain Taylor {for a second time}
    Joe Calzaghe

    Calzaghe

    NO DRAWS OR DEFEATS ONLY WINS

    If you are comparing resumes, you can not just pick certain fights to look at, you need to look at them all, you cant ignore a fight just because a boxer losses.

    Roy Jones beat 16 champs and suffered 5 losses, i will give him a score of 11 points
    B-Hop beat 9 champs and suffered 5 losses and a draw, i will give him 3 1/2 points
    Calzaghe beat 8 champs and suffered 0 losses, i will give him 8 points

    Ranking on resume -
    1] Jones 11 points
    2] Calzaghe 8 points
    3] B-Hop only three and a half points

    The last time i did an ATG list,i had Roy Jones at #33, Calzaghe at 53# and B-Hop at #54

    If we are talking head to head comparisons

    Calzaghe beat Hopkins {fact not fiction}
    Calzaghe beat Roy Jones {fact not fiction}
    Roy Jones beat Hopkins {fact not fiction}

    League Table

    1] Calzaghe played 2 won 2 lost 0
    2] Roy Jones played 2 won 1 lost 1
    3] B-Hop played 2 won 0 lost 2

    If the age of the boxers was a problem, prime v prime i predict =

    Calzaghe beats B-Hop
    Roy Jones beats B-Hop
    Calzaghe draws Roy Jones*

    *Although Calzaghe recently beat Jones in the US, i will give Jones the edge with home advantage prime v prime, if the bout was in Wales i would give Calzaghe the edge, considering Jones has never fought outside his home country as a pro .
