How many decades will take for a better heavyweight than Usyk to appear

Don’t worry bout it. If he carries on fighting an get koed against Kabayel or especially a shot Wilder in his next few fights then his rep will drop like a stone an no one will be wondering if he’s the greatest ever or not

I'd say Usyk is in his prime; he lives the life, he's just as good now as he was when he was 30. I don't think he's got any worse or slowed down. Dubois is not elite on any level, either. We could see a better HW emerge in the next crop of heavyweights, who knows? The idea that Usyk is the GOAT at HW doesn't fly for me. I don't think he's anywhere near as indestructible as people make out. His resume is far too thin at HW, too many rematches, and mostly against heavyweights who will not be considered great when they decide to hang their gloves up, especially when the dust settles a decade or two down the line, and people reassess.

 

Usyk did turn pro at 26, to be fair, which is pretty late; he's also opted for quality matchups rather than quantity, so he hasn't had the same wars and wear and tear. I think the Usyk in the second Dubois fight was the best we have seen him at HW, he commanded the ring, went gunning for the knockout, and when he had Dubois on the hook, he finished him off far more brutally than he did in the first fight.

 

He had him figured out within the first 2 rounds of the first fight, I think. Dubois just isn't on that level; it's one of the great promotional jobs by Warren, elevating that low-IQ headbutt King anywhere close to world level, but the way he put his foot down and knocked him out in the 2nd fight was a testament to Usyk still being just as high-quality and dangerous now as he was when he fought Bellew and Breidis, I think anyway. I don't think he's got any worse; he's got bigger and adapted, but he's still light years ahead.

 

I didn't say he was better, I just said he hasn't got any worse. How do you think he's physically declined? He went from a pretty competitive 12 rounds against Chisora to slapping Fury from corner to corner and should've got the TKO win. He doesn't move as fast because he's carrying more weight and has adapted, I think, anyway. I see no signs that Usyk has declined; his last 2 wins were arguably his 2 best performances at HW.

A better heavyweight might already be amongst us. Or it could be that a better one is a decade or more away.

We are still awaiting a better heavyweight than Ali in my opinion.

 

This. Usyk is visibly slower and less liquid in his movements. Yeah, he's stronger and arguably tougher but in my opinion for a fighter like him speed is everything.
