McDermott 1 maybe but in reality is doesn't matter, but Fury anywhere close to prime slaughters.

Nobody thinks he lost to Otto Wallin. The argument is that the fight should have been stopped on cuts, giving Wallin the win by TKO.

Didn't happen of course, and Fury won an uncontroversial decision.

The Fury McDermott fight, for anyone who hasn't seen it.

yeah I watched for myself yesterday
Fury over came adversity but thoroughly out worked Wallin from rounds 8-12

Well it mattered enough that they changed the rules on how British title fights were scored based on that fight.

You say it doesn't matter but it does, people love an undefeated record if Fury had that 1 loss it makes a difference.

Had Fury beating McDermott 97-93, Wilder 116-110 in the first fight and Wlad 116-111.

McDermott's work in that fight might look more impressive in the highlights but if you watch the whole fight you will likely change your mind quickly, if you thought he deserved the win.

He's got 0 losses, but I'll say he's lucky to not have 3. There's the McDermott fight where he probably should have lost on points of course, but then you have Wilder and Wallin.

Wilder 1 could have easily been a knockout loss. There's a lot of refs who would've immediately waved it off before he even hit the ground. Of course now we know that would've been the wrong call, but in a world where we didn't get to see his awesome rise from the canvas, I doubt there would have been too many people complaining about it.

Then there's the Wallin fight. It's true that the cut was opened a bit more due to some uncouth tactics, but a legal punch is what initially opened it, and in my opinion the initial cut was more than enough to get it stopped, as it certainly would have been if Wallin has got the cut instead. Once again though, we have the benefit of hindsight to see that not stopping it was the right call. It's years later and as far as we know Fury has suffered no adverse effects from the cut, but if it had been stopped then a lot of folks might still be talking about how if the fight had gone on he would've lost that eye. For what it's worth, in a scenario where he loses because of this, he very likely comes back and immediately avenges the loss.

So I'd say he has zero losses, one controversial win and some very lucky moments.

Indeed, it's a fake robbery. Fury "lost" to McDermott in the same way that Lewis "lost" to Mercer, except Fury was a 21 year old 35 amateur bout 7 fight pro novice who had never been past 4 rounds, rather than a 30 year old ex-champion with 100 amateur bouts and 29 pro fights.

"The consensus on Eyeonthering is that Fury won 6 of the 10 rounds, 5 clearly: https://eyeonthering.com/boxing/john-mcdermott-vs-tyson-fury

The consensus on Boxrec is that Fury won 96-95:

    https://boxrec.com/en/scoring/1433340

McDermott turned his back on Fury twice in the 10th round while absorbing punches, at one point running away! The Scot Jim Watt (who scored the fight close, 6-4 McDermott) even commented that McDermott could lose points for it (and it's technically a DQ-worthy offence) after saying “whichever way this goes”, implying that the fight was close and in the balance. If we’re lenient and just deduct a single point, Fury only needs 5 rounds to win 95-94, revisionism works both ways.

McDermott overperformed relative to expectations as a 7/2 underdog, was David to Fury's Goliath, was coming forward more, was fighting in his hometown and birthplace, had lost two close/controversial decisions to Danny Williams in his previous two fights (which were for the British title), braggadocios trash talking Irish Gypsy Fury was broadly disliked at the time, most of the hype and tribalistic support in Britain was either behind Ring cruiser champion and future Wlad title challenger Haye or 2008 SHW Olympic bronze medallist Price, the commentary was poor and the scoring too wide, hence the robbery narrative. Johnny Nelson stated just before the rematch that McDermott said he'd lost the first fight in the last two rounds."

    Zero.

Could be two if he was stopped on cuts againts Wallin, and some refs would instantly wave him off against Wilder.

John McDermott the Burger King was destroyed by David Price in a round. Styles make fights and someone like Price was all wrong for Fury there's a reason why Fury ducked Price.
