If Terry O'Connor officiated that match there wouldn't even have been a count.

I wouldn't look at Fury any lesser as a fighter if that fight was scored a loss because Fury won the rematch and sometimes good fighters lose early in their career.

Just look at Wlad. He was like 23-3 at one point, but after that went undefeated in 11 years.

His early losses were just part of his learning process, the best fighters don't always have 0's on their record. And having a 0 doesn't make you better than those without.

I agree with you on that I wouldn't look at Fury any different either, because it was very early in his career and it was a learning fight. Plus Fury did make amends in the rematch without controversy.

I'm just saying you know how fans are if you haven't got that shiny undefeated record you'll be looked at in a different way, and I think that would be the case for Fury

Kronk Fury is undefeated in mythical H2H matchups against all the historical greats. Beats them all handily with his twenty stone of gypsy tank inside fightingness.

Just checked boxrec and real life Fury is also undefeated against every man born from his mother.

55% of voters think that Fury still lost the fight, and 25% think that Tyson Fury lost more than one fight in his professional boxing career... interesting.

You know why nobody has ever seen Fury's biological mother?...because it's John Fury. That's right.

Yeah remember the commentator thinking the announcers had read out the wrong name after the referees decision, or something like that. Pretty much everyone thought he had lost.

Get as small a sample as 76 people - many with agendas - to vote on anything and the results can be almost anything.

Fury suffered a bad cut but completely dominated Wallin. Although some might argue the fight should have been stopped for the cut, Fury managed to fight on and win convincingly with the cut which means it was right for it to carry on.

McDermott: Technically it wasn't a loss since for some bizarre reason it was up to the ref to score. If Fury was dropped 6x and barely managed to land a single punch yet was awarded the decision because that's how the ref called it, that would be a win. This is why a fight should never be up to just 1 person. In virtually any honest standard setting with 3 judges, Fury would have lost a close decision at best. The fact they ordered a rematch with different rules tells you all you need to know. Only a delusional individual would score it the way the ref did.

Wallin: Many champions were allowed to keep going while suffering a bad cut. Rocky in the Charles fight could've been stopped, but it was the right decision to give him one more chance and we got to see what the Rock was made of. With Fury, I don't really hold this against him since he wasn't struggling or behind on points, he just happened to have a bad cut. The main reason fights are stopped on cuts is if the boxer either A) is losing too much blood/risking permanent damage or B) they can't see the punches coming and they're getting blasted in the face. Neither of these apply to Fury as he was in control winning with mild difficulty. He wasn't getting clobbered unable to defend himself and although he lost a lot of blood, he wasn't in a serious health scare. That being said, some refs would stop it primarily because the cut was so gruesome but Fury needed to keep his undefeated momentum for his showdowns with the big names of the division so a lot of it was simply politics.

Wilder 1: Unlike the McDermott fight, when it comes to knockdowns there's nothing wrong with allowing the ref to make the final call. The issue here is that it was a pretty generous count and that many, many refs would've stopped it the moment Fury went down. It doesn't mean Fury "should" have lost, but he was certainly lucky it wasn't waved off. I definitely see Kenny Bayless stopping it before he even got up and there'd be nothing wrong with that. You can also criticize Wilder for being a very sloppy finisher, he should've been able to get rid of Fury. I don't hold it against Fury since he showed amazing guts even throwing punches back, but he definitely got lucky it wasn't stopped since it was such a devastating knockdown.

Wilder 3: Again, up to the ref so you can say he received generous counting, but that's not his fault it's up to the ref to give a fair count.

All in all, Fury should have 1 loss bare minimum (McDormett), the others were just him showing guts+generous officiating.

He definitely lost the first McDermott fight, he lost versus Ngannou on my card and he probably should have been waved off versus Wallin.

All of this doesn't matter, he's mentally broken now and totally over the hill physically. He'll either retire or get destroyed in his next fight.
