    I just think of combos as Left and Right instead of Jab, Cross, Hook, Uppercut, etc. The actual punch I throw will depend on distance and the openings I see.

    Far Distance=Jabs and Straights to the body or head
    Close Distance=Hooks and Uppercuts to the body or head

    2 Hit-Combos:

    Left, Right
    Right, Left
    Left, Left

    3 Hit Combos:

    Left, Right, Left
    Right, Left, Right
    Left, Left, Right

    That's it. If I want a bigger combo I just link 2 and 3 hit combos together.

    Jab, Jab, Cross, Jab, Cross, Left Hook, Jab, Cross is:
    (Left, Left, Right) (Left, Right, Left) (Left Right)

    Jab, Cross, Left Hook, Right Uppercut, Left Hook, Right Hook Body, Left Hook Body is:
    (Left, Right, Left) (Right, Left) (Right, Left)

    I find that easier to remember. Also, no ones gonna just stand there and let me hit them with all that. They're gonna try to hit me back so I practice like this:

    (Left, Left, Right) Block, Slip, Pivot (Left, Right, Left) Block, Block (Left, Right) Run Away. Jab and Start Over. Something like that.

    Fake an overhand right then come up with a corkscrew

    Slip and jab to the body then right hand up top

    Two of my trademarks

    1-1-2
    1-1-2-3
    1-5
    1-2-5
    1-1-2-5
    2-3
    3-2
    5-2
    2-5
    1-6
    1-1-6
    1-2-7
    2-7
    7-2
    1-7-2
    6-4
    7-5-2
    7-3
    7-3-1
    1-3
    1-3-2

    1 = Jab
    2 = Cross
    3 = Left Hook
    4 = Right Hook
    5 = Left Uppercut
    6 = Right Uppercut
    7 = Left Hook (Body)
    8 = Right Hook (Body)

    Just a few. There are absolutely tonnes if I'm throwing at a bag. In terms of sparring I will only stick to a few more orthodox combinations.

    A couple of my favourite combinations are slipping the jab, throwing the overhand right and bringing a left uppercut up behind it, or throwing combinations with the same hand to try and catch an opponent out, such as a left uppercut and then a left hook, or a right uppercut following by a right hook/straight right. Doubt they would work in proper fights though.

    I practice any combination I can think of that makes sense to me.

    However, in a fight a lot of the flashier stuff I do in sparring/training seems to go away and I revert to the stuff I was taught first: 1. 1-2. 1-2-3 if I'm feeling REALLY ballsy. Hopefully this gets fixed as I get more experience.

    Well i would say one of the major difference between those two is..........

    That Roy Jones hardly ever takes the lead in a fight, therefore his offense comes from his defense, which is essentially the offense of the opponent, ever seen Roy have to set up his own attacks and come foward (Montell Griffin), no where near as impressive, reason? because he does not have a jab to set up his attacks.

    Kessler will set up his attacks with his jab, albeit he is not particularly great at it either as he does not get his feet into position at times, he tends to reach with his jab when someone uses movement against him.
