Outside of K2, who's time is coming to an end. How many honest ATG Talents throughout ALL Weight Divisions do you see? I see one. Lemchenkoo, Vasly. The guy dominating the Olympics, I think he's going to be an ATG. But that's it, everyone else will be mediocre to maybe a 2 belt champion.
lomachenko looks the goods but ATG? doubt it. eastern euro's have been cleaning up in boxing for the last few Olympics and no one has emerged as a great pro. Great am doesn't= great pro especially with this shitty am format which encourages habits that are beyond detrimental as pro.
If we can go back a few years and count it in the same generation then Sugar Nikolai Valuev. The only man except for Lewis who scared both klitschkos. Though I doubt he'll ever get the credit he deserves
What is happening in the transition from amateur to pros? Are they getting mismanaged? Don't have it?
Kyhtrov looks like an absolute tank, dont know if he'll turn pro or not but he could potentially be very good. Osyk is very accomplished, he'll do well if he turns pro. Petrauskas is already a legend but has said he'll stay in the amateurs after the Olympics.
I blame it on the format....even as recent as the 80's/90's most top olympians made the pro transition but since this point system has been adapted it's encouraged bad habits that do not transfer well to the pro ranks like shoe sining with pitty patter shots to register as many scoring points as possible over quality work to hurt an opponent and soften them up.
