They have decades of some of the greatest fights of all time in their vault not to mention their very entertaining HBO Legendary Nights series. Say they did it like Showtime and showed a past fight every day of the week. Say it be Hopkins/Trinidad in one night and Roy Jones/Montel Griffin, etc. And they just keep showing these fights constantly.

How many new fans would HBO attract to boxing by doing this? Please vote.

I think they could do a pretty fair amount. And if they did that regularly, whether it be one or two nights a week at the same time or whatever, I would certainly be interested to see it. Heck, even if they just went through all the great fights they have from the Boxing After Dark and World Championship series they'd have a lot of good material.

They could count this guy in.

I would even pay money if HBO would come out with some sort of premieum boxing channel where fights are on all day. Other sports have them , why not boxing/

It's actually annoying that the only time HBO ever airs past fights is when two guys are going at it in a ppv. You'll get about one past fight each from the fighter and often times it's the same one they've aired before.

They would attract a lot of fans. Boxing is something compelling and primal, and if you offer it to people, you'll get them to tune in.

Which reminds me, i wonder what fight they will show for the Hopkins/Pavlik fight as they show each fighter's supposed "best" fight to get people excited the Friday night leading up to the fight on Saturday. I am hoping they show Hopkins/Tito and not Hopkins/Tarver or Hopkins/DLH. I'm sure for Pavlik, they are going to show Pavlik/Taylor 1.

Personally I think the lack of mainstream exposure is playing a major role to this so called decline in boxing, to the casual fan, only the nostalgic names of the past are important, the champions of today are trivial to those of the past in that aspect. It would benefit boxing if HBO was to show more fights from the past to lure casual fans in and then introduce them to the careers of today's champions and contenders via recent and upcoming bouts....the 24/7 series is great, but there isn't enough of it...24/7 should be 24/7, all boxing, all fighters, no agendas

Good thread topic, I always wondered what the hell they do with their fights. They just jealously guard this treasure for nothing.
