Watch the Tijuana-emmanuel I tape. Tijuana was using his jab as a measuring stick for the right to the body and would check hook his way out of it whenever his back was near the ropes. These are Mayweatheresque techniques. Zab kept getting flickered before tasting a str8 to the body. Floyd made the check hook famous. Juan didn't do this **** as he's not comfortable playing on the ropes like that.

His jab also isn't great as Floyd and Tijuana jabs.

Juan relied quite a bit on combos wheres Erik did many potshot counters. Floyd's proportions are closer to Tjuana than they are Juan. Both Floyd and Erik have the classic boxer build wheres Juan is the chubby, stocky Mexican guy. Erik showed us how a bigger man can use his reach advantages over emmanuel. Now Floyd will be able to lead with the right onto emmanuel's face unlike Tijuana.

Floyd's offensive arsenal will be closer to Erik's than Juan when it's time to run the scythe through emmanuel.

It takes not only skill, but bravery, i.e., willingness/fearlessness of getting hit to follow the JMM blueprint. There are a few guys who could do it w/o using the Marquez blueprint, i.e., not eating so many shots - FMJ, for one.

Mayweather can definitely beat Pac, Bradley might have a shot BUT Berto and Mosley have NO chance in hell, Mosley because he is shot to **** and Berto because he has ZERO skill despite being the most athletic guy around.

No way Berto could, he's struggled with Collazo and Ortiz and doesn't have the chin or ring IQ to beat Pacquiao. Bradley is good and will be preparing for the fight of his life but MP's too good imo. The thing with Marquez is he's a counter puncher by nature but can fight toe2toe and also really good at beating south paws. Against Mayweather (who isn't as good against south paws or under pressure) he looked bad because Mayweather's faster, longer, bigger and it just isn't in Marquez's nature to force the fight so he was getting beaten at his own game all night.

Mosley has already proven that he's too shot for Pacquiao. Mayweather can beat Pac but he'll have to go through hell to do it coz Pacquiao's a night mare for him. It's time they fought, 2012 or not at all.

Mayweather would beat up Pac just like Morales did. It'd be ugly.

You mean Floyd gets outboxed and gets the **** beat out of him for 12 rounds? :huh

This is the correct answer. Nobody fights like Juan except Juan. You can try to apply certain apsects of that gameplan but if you try to copy Marquez point blank your not going to be successful . He also had the advantage of fighting 24 rounds with Pac before the 3rd fight so he knows him pretty well.

I wouldn't make Mayweather a strong favourite at all. Pacquiao will give him a lot more trouble than Cotto did imo and I think the fight would leave people very divided as to who won. If you check my post history I was one of the few who predicted Marquez would get robbed in Pac 3.

There is a video where Marquez who masters the craft explains how did he deal both cerebral and physically with Manny in the third meeting. However, he is a veteran and he thinks, lives and has learned through mistakes ( 3 knockdowns in the opening round in the first fight and another in the second fight early also) so there are not much out there. A crafty counter puncher that would be able to deal with Manny is someone like Floyd, Hopkins, Ward, not really many in the division we are talking about... Unless, someone can be more busy and back Manny to defense and I clearly don't see anybody under that description.
