How many fighters can you name that recover after a one sided thrashing?

There are only a few fighters who recover or become great again after one sided thrashing (we are not talking about one-round KO like Juanma vs. DPL but thorough one sided beating like Lacy-Calzaghe, Pac-Diaz, Darchi-Mijares).

It is my contention that such beating affects more the psyche rather than the physical aspect. Lacy never reached his supposed potential; Solis, an udefeated prospect with very solid boxing fundamental (I thought that they fed him to the lion in that match), is erased from the map after loss to pac.

On the other hand, MAB rose from the beating he got.

There is no way to predict who would rise through such situation and I can not name many actually. Infact, I think that Mijares will never be the same again.

Alot of old timers. Recently I'd say De leon. Cabellero beat the **** out of him and he has had a pretty good career for himself minus the JuanMa fight.

Also Darchinyan. He actually looks better now then when Donaire beat the **** out of him.

Patterson came back to beat Johansson twice after being dropped 7 times.

He also had a nice run late in his career after the 2 losses to Liston and first for Ali.

Sugar Ray Leonard comes to mind...he came back and performed pretty well after a devastating loss to Duran. Wlad did pretty well coming back from a devastating loss to Corrie Sanders as well, I'm not sure if that applies.

We are talking here of comprehensive thrashing, one sided beating, unilateral outclassing. The Darchi-Donaire 1, Donaire was winning because he was landing the more meaningful punch but not a thrashing until the KO happened. Example of a thrashing would be Pac-Mab 1 or Darchi-Mijares.

I cannot recall Leonard being totally outclassed in the Duran fight. Infact, the scores were so closed that only 1 judge had Duran by two points while the other two was just by a point. He chose to slug with Duran that is why he lost but he had his moments.

damn ray you beat me too it.... first thing that popped into my head was Vic... from the first round on he was handled by donaire, outboxed, outpunched, outfought... then ko'd... and hes come back better then ever.

I have to disagree.... although ya, there are plenty of fights that were far worse then what vic got in a way, what he got was still close to a thrashing.... he was busted up before the ko, was wobbled throughout the fight, didnt mount anything effective and didnt win more then a minute at a time throughout the whole fight, then got brutally knocked out.

That is a thrashing... regardless of how bad other fighters have been dominated in other fights. Yes... it was no Cotto Gomez, but it was a domination followed by a knockout nonetheless.... with vic coming back just as strong.
