Exactly. You could go on holiday to Africa and have one of them bugs that lays its eggs in your eyes as you sleep and they eat your cornea(the only one left in your head), wtf then ? You've already given your other eye to the fans. And correct me if im wrong, hasn't Brook got relatives in Africa ??

After his fight with Hagler John Mugabi fought Terry Thomas and had his eye socket broken in the first round, allegedly with a thumb into his eye socket causing the break. After beating some low level competition he fought Terry Norris and looked as timid as he ever did getting knocked out in 1 round. The man who went to war with Marvin Hagler and took everything he had for 11 rounds was blasted out by a fighter who wasn't that big a puncher. Hagler took a lot from him, but I think that injury finished him.

Instead of derailing the ops thread with your extreme fanboyism and hatred towards contributing posters, why dont you contribute to it?
Start your own thread if this one twist your panties into wads.

Another one. Okay, I don’t see how correcting a factual error is derailing a thread any more than your nonsense contribution. Didn’t mean to get your panties in a bunch with my comment and hope this response doesn’t trigger you. Sincerely!

I'm contributing to the thread, your response = triggered.
Go straighten out the knots in your panties and come back when you can contribute to the og post. Bye bye

The answer is simple, guys have come back from this type of injury but it depends on a number of factors. Individual fighters heal differently, there are different degrees of severity which factor into the equation and fighting style factors in. Guys who are better defensively probably have a better shot at coming back (all thins being equal). Guys who get hit a lot face greater risk and older guys tend to not heal as quickly.

Brooke came back and injured his other eye in the Spence fight. It’s possible the other eye was injured in the GGG fight as well. It’s odd that Brook fought his whole life and never had this type of injury, as far as we know, and suffered it again within a relatively short time.

I didn’t hear anything about Salido’s injury severity but it might not have been as severe as Brooke’s or he may be a good healer. Lumping all eye injuries, even if they look the same on paper, is foolish because there are too many factors.

That may have been the case. He may have injured both eyes and only had surgery on the worse one. Boxers fight with injuries all the time. Broken hands, torn ligaments, eye injuries, etc. Floyd adjusted his style late in his career because his hands were prone to injury. He had the skill to pull it off. A guy with eye injuries might not have the luxury.

Fighters have come back from this injury. I expect Inoue to come back to form. You just never know because the degree of injury, ability to heal and fighting style all factor in. A guy like Adriane Peterson can come back from severe knee injuries in a short time and continue being great. Other guys are done after the first ACL surgery (me! although no one would ever mistake me for a great athlete). Even if they are physically healed, some guys are never the same mentally after a severe injury.

I believe Chuvalo suffered an orbital fracture in his tko loss to Frazier and still had a successful heavyweight run afterwards.

Japan is a 1st world country with tremendous medical facilities to take care of Inoue.

But it depends you get hit there and get double vision that's ummm difficult to fight with. Pac did it to Margarito so Donaire has to do it as well. Anything you can do I can do as well....

Anyway, inoue will probably be fine. But if that socket is tenderized it will pop anytime some one cracks it. Inoue, anyway wish him the best.
