Well honestly he's got a lot more. He got hit very few times and he has skills to be competitive even if he speed has already left him. Well, he gets hit even less now that he fights only once a year. He should be headed to 1 fight only, same as the guy who he should fight. Money and Pac should just get it over with then retire.
Thatll do nicely. Hes 35 but doesnt take any punches at all and always stays in shape, i think he could go on for quite a while.
So do I, but I don't think he wants to. He has stated that he doesn't love the sport anymore. He'd make over 100 million between those 3 fights then he'll be set to retire.
I seriously think Floyd wants to reach 50+. He will fight until he loses, or reaches 5X. If the Cotto fight comes off(no injury cancellations), he will fight again this year, and at least 2x next year. Although, if he happens to beat Pac and Sergio, he would probably retire with just that.
I think Mayweather could fight well into his 40's if he wanted to. The thing about Mayweather and Hopkins is that they have avoided a lot of big time damage in their careers. Floyd with his superb defense, and Hopkins with his late start
People, it's obvious Pac isn't on Mayweathers roadmap anymore. For the Cotto fight he has gone up in weight as a try-out which means only one thing: his goal is now set to a mega-fight with Martinez! He will convincingly beat an in-prime P4P #3 in a big mega-fight. After that it's one (Canelo) or two (yet to rise 154/160 megastar?) farewell fights as his legacy is sealed (and put above Pacs since he will be left at 147 without any mega-fight expect an old P4P #4/5 Marquez who he will decision struggling for the 4th time). I don't see Floyd coming down in weight again once he has been successful at 154. Too much risk in too much weight-shifting downwards.
My answer to this always changes. I'm thinking 3 at least, it will get him to 45-0. For whatever reason, I don't see him sharing 46-0 with Calzaghe (not that there is any debate over who is better or anything, but nonetheless). 47-0 would be another 5 fights. I'll say he has 10 "left" but will only fight on another 3 times (Cotto AND 2 of Alvarez, Pacquiao, Khan, Ortiz II).
He could honestly fight into his mid 40's much like Hopkins and still be very good. He would likely lose a couple fights if he did that though. Is he really fighting Canelo after Cotto? Is that fight certain?
