Ridiculous. I hate commenting one way or the other on fighter's contracts but ultimately you gotta fight. Being sidelined so long cannot benefit you.
I found it interesting that on HBO while commentating, he was talking about his career in past tense. Leads me to believe he is done.
All of this ^^^ ...Ward will demand HBO pay him the same 2M he got for E-Rod (did HBO ever get fukked over on that one), and he'll fight one of Sartison, Truax or Vera if he does come back.
Ward doesn't have a pot to piss in anymore. I know for a fact he's donated an awful lot of his ring earnings to various different charity organizations. He forked out a small fortune in 2012 on a high-rise apartment complex in Oakland for the homeless to live in. And he said that he's donated hefty sums of cash to his local church too. He also tweeted at the beginning of last year that he blew a big wad of money treating his pastor and his trainer/godfather Virgil Hunter to a new designer wardrobe each and a couple of flashy sports cars. Ward also an eye for the materialistic and has a taste for the finer things in life too. He owns a couple of flashy set of wheels himself (one of which being a Porsche Panamera) and he said he owns over 8,000 pairs of sneakers, which has been a lifelong passion of his. 'For a long while Andre Wards been a Ford pickup guy, living a life of a man driving his truck to work in the pre-dawn light, staying late, keeping it humble. Ward still drives a Ford pickup and grinds it, but theres another car in his garage a Porsche Panamera which reflects another side of the man whos months from turning thirty.' Ward loves shoes. Like some musicians dream of being on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine, Ward is among the athletes who hunger for having their own model of footwear. Theyve made boxing shoes for me, but its not my own shoe, from scratch, he said. My dream, my desire is to have my own boxing shoe from scratch. To have my own boxing shoe would be unbelievable. There are a lot of things you want to accomplish in the sport and thats a big one. Its something Im pushing for and theyre trying to make it happen. Wow... ^^^ Maybe we'll see kids wearing Andre Wards a couple of years from now. You know, if you can't afford Jordans, better settle for Wards.
lol I doubt it. Maybe his own little sprogs might but I can't see there being any demand for them outside his own household. I'm sure he could shift a few pairs of them down at his local church though.
