How many Floyd fans have actually seen vs Augustus?

But i have no doubts he's incredibly overrated. Take the shoulder roll, for example.

A move that works only against shorter opponents or opponents with bad footwork, and they also must be orthodox fighters, or else it's all wrong, you should invert it but nobody has time to master an inverted shoulder roll. Floyd doesn't.

Floyd style consists in just jabbing and occasionally throwing a right straight, backing off after every single punch. It's not that skillfull or anything.
He just faces opponents that cannot work around that, or that "forget to throw the jab" (never forget lol).

Floyd is a lot more fun to watch these days because he's relying more on his skills and style to beat his opposition. A lot of that has to do with being 37 and not having the wheels he used to have. When Floyd was in his physical prime he would use his legs as his main defensive tool.

He was so fast and had great reflexes that he could literally pot shot his opponents all night long staying on the outside because he could. He never really languished in the pocket unless he was cornered and would easily win UD ' over guys who just didn't have the physical tools to overcome Floyd's speed and mobility.

Floyd has some incredible skills that we are privileged to witness when he's Iin there against opposition that present very little risk.....guys like Gatti and Miadana are styles Floyd can really shine! I expect Floyd to put on a masterful display of boxing and take more risk than we are typically use to seeing from Floyd.

I watched the Augustus fight again for the first time in years and Floyd was getting tagged over and over again, he took some punishment in that fight. Augustus is better than his record suggests but he's still basically nothing more than a journeyman level fighter, and keep in mind that Floyd had plenty of pro experience at this point. Why is it then that so many fans believe Lomachenko is a hypejob with questionable defence despite losing a controversial decision to a much larger Salido (Who is a far greater opponent than Augustus), in a fight where Lomachenko took no punishment and finished on top?
Why the double standards for Floyd fans? Watching the Augustus fight makes me understand why he fights in a potshot, safety first style today. It also makes me understand why Floyd was so eager to avoid the Pac fight, an aggressive fighter throwing unorthodox punches has no issues finding Floyd. Especially a southpaw, when Augustus switched to southpaw Floyd couldn't see where punches were coming from. Floyd has good defence on the outside, on the inside he's certainly no Toney or Whitaker.

That zero indicates to some fans that he's unbeatable, but if you actually watch and understand boxing you can see Floyd is far from it. He's chosen his opponents well and marketed himself to perfection. When it comes to being in the discussion for ATG, not even close imo. Floyd looks like Broner against Augustus, if you haven't seen it check it out.

What happened in the Cotto and DLH fights?

Mayweather's performance against Cotto was probably my favourite, he duked it out against Cotto and beat his ass. DLH was just a **** fight but it was pretty clear to see Mayweather was getting hit less and landing cleaner shots.

agree 100%. Pac who fought Cotto would have finished floyd and floyd knew that

Floyd won every single round of the fight. It was a tough fight, but he was campaigning at 130 at that time and went to 135 for that single fight following the biggest layoff of his career at that time

Exactly and he was coming off a long layoff. Pbf banged more with Augustus because he knew be could takes those shots all night long in those lower weight classes. You also saw him get hit a lot against Jesus Chavez another guy he brutally beat. He wouldn't do that now because he's in with bigger stronger guys.

Floyd even at welterweight couldn't stop Lomachenko at 126, that's nonsense. The Floyd who fought in the lower weight classes was a lot more entertaining than todays version but he was also much more vulnerable due to being more offense minded, his defining win there was against Corrales. Lomachenko would comfortably deal with that version of Floyd. I'd lean towards Floyd against Salido (if Salido made weight) but I'd pick Salido to easily stop Floyd if it was Floyd's 2nd pro contest and first 12 rounder.
We will see what Lomachenko has, I actually enjoy the way he's being written off after the Salido fight. He's going to blow some minds along the way and have them questioning what they really know about boxing. He'll demolish GRJ btw, bet the house on that.
