    Big fights? Seriously?

Clev vs Bellew: Both domestic/European level who were brutally stopped and were arguing about who was ko'd by the better man

Periban vs DeGale: Periban was outboxed by ****ing j'leon love

Groves vs Douglin: Douglin was stopped by the Charlo brother who can't punch

Joshua vs Sprott: Joshua would beat Fury and Price now and can be 'the greatest ever' yet he's fighting a 39 year old who was KO'd by a 44 year old in his last fight

But yeah if you don't pay 17 quid to watch it, you're not a proper fan...

Nonsense, if people don't think they are getting value for money, then that's up to them not to buy it.

Yes, sounds great, but sadly it is very unlikely to happen again. The 80s saw the 'perfect storm' of two icons at the same time, who were both household names (Bruno and McGuigan) being shown prime time on BBC.

This led to ITV trying to get in on the act by signing Lewis and due to the excellent Seconds Out, 'creating' their own superstar in Nigel Benn. Benn led to Eubank, then Naseem came along, but SKY saw their chance and struck a deal with he who cannot be named and Eubank. Thus, that was end of that era.

Sure Regan, Neary, McMillian et al did alright in the mid/late 90s, but it was never quite the same again on ITV.

Because to the UK tommorow's fight is not huge. Yes us hardcore fans recognize the significance, but we are literally in our thousands, which is the sort of audience number Eurosport would be happy with.

More people in the UK know of Bellew and Cleverly, they have the following of some of the casual sporting fans, as well as a hardcore support. And after the success of Froch/GrovesII, I suspect SKY is willing to give Matchroom the benefit of the doubt on the hunch they can get this fight over too.

People that genuinely want to have a good night in with a few pals few beers and watch the fights are hardly fools mate. We are talking about £17 are we not?? come on.
You sound bitter because people want to watch it.

Do you subscribe to any sports channels or even attend any events
Or god forbid partisipate? What do you ever pay for in life and feel happy about?

Who cares? If u want to buy it of dont has nothing to do with u being a fan or not, only yourself knows if your a hardcore fan not posters on here. People argue about anything and everything on here especially when there cant be definitive answer.

LOL, that you can put a monetary value on being 'hardcore', would suggest you are anything but...

A lot of the boxing 'hardcore' struggle to watch their sport, because unlike many other sports it is expensive to watch, even on TV. But those who are 'hardcore' support their sport. And while some of us may pay to watch next week, plenty of the 'hardcore', are watching/helping at their local club or show. Now that is hardcore to me!

Thanks for replying. I also like George Groves but at the time of the first fight I wouldn't have considered him a world level British fighter. I think either Bellew or Cleverlys record at this point compares favourably with his before that. Plus pound for pound I reckon Murat and Karpency in Cleverlys case and the African in Bellews are better than the Frenchman George beat for the European title. That one punch changed a lot of things, but it didn't change the fact that Froch was by a long chalk the better fighter. These 2 are evenly matched. I bought that and will buy this, but Im looking forward to this possibly a bit more. As I say, personal choice.

Thats another side of the coin. I know amateur, and pro, trainers who don't watch as much boxing on TV as I do because they're busy taking lads to shows they're involved in.
