How many gold medal winning olympians won the proffesional Heavyweight crown

When I first saw Solis as a pro and they said what he accomplished as an amateur, I thought 'THIS guy?! No way.'

Mercer won Gold and the WBO HW Title.

Holyfield won a Bronze but should have won the Gold in '84. Roy Jones Jr. won Silver but should have won Gold in '88.

 

I think that boxing in it's current form should be removed from the Olympics.

It's not a contest between two people in a sporting sense..... it's a contest between two people to see who can con the judges.

There isn't any skill element to it, it's just get close and windmill.... if you are lucky to be ahead run/hold like hell until the bell goes

They might as well have it over one five minute round as it is. Actually dividing the contest up serves no purpose.

I'm not against cut stoppages at all, but the way they just jump in immediately is a bit weak IMO.

On topic.... heavies not winning the world title are pretty unique, though that is going to be more and more common as the ams and pros get more different.
