Maybe Thurman, possibly Crawford. I just hope these interesting match-ups involving Spence are made during the next couple of years.
Garcia easily goes the distance with Spence. I also think Porter, Jesse Vargas, and Broner would last the distance with Spence as well. I need to see Crawford against better competition at 147 before I make a decision about him lasting the distance with Spence. Spence is skilled and applies pressure well, but isn't as hard a puncher as Thurman or Maidana and he hasn't stopped a durable fighter yet. He's stopped Algieri, Lamont Peterson, and Brook, who aren't exactly known for their durability. He also has very suspect stamina.
Spence vs. Ronald Cruz This content is protected Cruz is pretty much the only durable fighter Spence has fought. Despite Spence landing a headbut early and cutting Cruz his punch output went way down in the mid and later rounds. This fight also exposed Spence's power as good, but not great. Spence vs. Heerden This content is protected Just like in the Cruz fight he looked good early, but started fading in the later rounds. Spence scored two good knockdowns and the ref gave him the stoppage, but didn't seem to have any steam left, but Heerden should fired back in the last round to avoid giving the ref the chance to stop it. Cruz kept firing back in order to not give Byrd a chance to stop it early. Spence vs. Brook This content is protected Good performance by Spence. Brook is a talented fighter and has good power, but in this fight Spence kept fading every time he let his hands go. This fight also exposed that his defense still needs a lot of work. Brook was landing uppercuts to the body a little too often. Against a more durable fighter than Brook I think his stamina would get further exposed.
None of those guys have the endurance to take the pounding Spence would give them, they wont be able to take it.
hard to say. lots of good 147s . best chance is bud crawford. but i think spences real challenges is when he moves up in weight.
