You could have saved yourself 4 words and still been bang on.

Wladimir Klitschko would probably have to be heavily favored on pedigree given his accomplishments

I don't really see why this isn't a more popular pick. Of course it helps that Wladimir Klitschko was a skilled shw and Foreman didn't face any and also that he fought in an era with massive ped usage which wasn't present in the 1970s as best I can tell.

Phew….I was worried I’d cop some heat for leaving Big Cat out.

He’s just outside my top two, equally placed alongside Ingemar. Two very live dogs not to be dismissed out of hand……

When I said great minds think alike, I was referring to us forgetting about Williams as well....... You DID forget about Williams right? Right?

I agree. Post-shooting Williams was on par with Brian London, as seen by their respective results against Ali. Prime Williams beats anyone not named Liston.

I've always thought that if Tyson boxed smartly, ala Tucker he could win this on points, but when he got hit cleanly, he'd get angry and instinctively wanted to trade- and that'd likely be his downfall vs George.

I have to give credit to my man Ingo - he survived his potential Tyson-Tokyo, upset of upsets moment and hung tough to claim the decision. :D

    My confident choices -

Muhammad Ali 1964-75 (Zaire and Caracas Foreman are the same beast)
    Larry Holmes 1978-82

    Maybes - to start with

    Lennox Lewis 1997-99
    Sonny Liston 1958-62
    Joe Louis 1937-42

Having a good think about the others.
