you can read it to suit your argument. but. my interpretation is when they speak of a champion from above or below, they are referring to a wbc title holder. i come to that conclusion based on number (v) where they clearly make the distinction reegarding another governing body.

regardless, i did somne looking, and found how they were able to justify his ranking without viol,ating their "rules". sulaiman had named castillo the wbc international champion at 140, anmd hatton "won" that belt in their fight.

V refers to current champions of the division in question. Rules 3 and 4 refer to former champions and champions in other divisions. By having all 3 rules, they cover all their bases.

This is just another one of the many provisions that allowed for Hatton to be rightfully credited as a mando to Floyd. Unfortunately, many posters just want to point fingers and spout bull**** about rules violations without knowing the rules.
