The real question is whether Holy would even have fought Fitzsimmons! Commonsense dictates Holy would have ducked him!

 

Boxing hasn't evolved in the last 80 years but man it certainly evolved after this.

 

Corbett has such a good solid jab. And a razor like right hand that follows it. I particularly like his footwork, although as the fight progresses Fitz gets the edge here. But yeah he looks strong in the clinch.

 

I think most are aware of Fitzsimmons weight. He's the lightest ever HW champion.

This footage doesn't show it, but Fitzsimmons turns the fight around and knocks Corbett out with a shot to the solar plexus.

 

Corbett was lucky he came along when he did!
A decade or so later he'd have probably being getting his ass kicked regular.
