Fitz often gave a lower weight than he was.

Besides a man who could have been 170 Pounds our less knocked Jack Johnson cold. Another one floored him and a third out boxed him. So if 170 pounds give or take few really matters, please apply your numerous double standard to all. But we know you wont.

The difference is Corbett's opponent in Fitzsimmons was an al time puncher.

Keep up the fine work on the hate!

He better not be letting Holyfield spin him in a clinch. Best walk backwards to his corner at the rounds end too. If he lasted one.

You could have a great time coming up with a nickname for Evander for the pre-fight marketing.

    The Real Feel
    Evander Holycow!
    Evander Whollypealed

Will you stop talking about flipping Corbett? You Aussies are all the same - no romance.

All this flipping happening to him, Corbett's nickname could be 'The Pancake'.

Fitz's given weight for the Corbett fight was 157lbs I GAVE HIM AN EXTRA 13LBS!
Johnson's biographer states that Choynski and Johnson weighed about the same for their fight.
No 170lbs or less fighter ko'd the heavyweight version of Johnson in fact nobody ko'd him at all whilst he was prime! Fourteen years without being stopped!
Jack Sharkey ever ko'd by a middleweight? lol

Jack Sharkey never faced Fitzsimmons, who wasn't normal MW.

I'm aware Jack Sharkey never faced Fitzsimmons.I was drawing a parallel between Corbett's chin and Jack Sharkey's ,since the poster I was responding to, tried to infer, on another thread that Sharkey's was suspect.
NB Bob Davis a newspaper man was in Fitzsimmons camp for the Corbett fight. He stated that Fitz was weighed on a steel yard scale the morning of the fight and registered 157lbs.I gave Fitz the benefit of an additional 13 lbs.
I hope this meets with your approval?

I know all of these things, but saying that Corbett was stopped by MW doesn't give Jim justice. Fitzsimmons was monstrous hitter at heavyweight.
