    I don't know, are you?

You said Fitz was under the weight of 170, I'm pretty sure that's a fact most are aware of since, as I said, he's known for being the lightest heavyweight champion in history.

So since you stated a known fact, I figured I'd reciprocate in kind.

My comment about Fitz's weight was in response to someone saying Corbett pushed him away, inferring Corbett was strong, so it was a relevant observation. Now it's Sunday morning and Ive just had my eggs on toast sitting down with my third cup of tea.I dont to pedantry on a Sunday ,in fact I don't do it at all so ------jog on.

Not really a relevant observation, as you said, it's a known fact. As was mine. Jog wherever you want my friend, the world is your oyster.

Fitz knocking him out was relevant because that's what he did.

I won't put you on ignore, every so often I like some of the things you post.

I won't devolve into insults like you have. If we were sat in a pub in real life, discussing this fight. And I said Fitz knocked him out, there's no way on earth you would tell me to jog on and get a life.

    But enjoy yours anyways.

I'd say to you anything I say on here, if things went tits up you would emerge the winner because I am 71, 30 years ago things might have been different.I've had plenty of scraps inside the ring and on the cobbles.
So stop with the puffing out your chest ****.

You came looking to make smart remarks for no reason whatever , I called you a pedant because that's what you are .

But no you wouldn't, unless you have serious anger issues there's no way in real life a conversation would escalate as you have done here. I'm not puffing my chest, I too wouldn't start hurling insults at someone over a boxing conversation in real life, but then again I'm not insulting on a forum neither.

It was you who quoted me. I was responding to a different poster.

    Again, enjoy your day sir.

    You
Corbett has such a good solid jab. And a razor like right hand that follows it. I particularly like his footwork, although as the fight progresses Fitz gets the edge here. But yeah he looks strong in the clinch.

    Me
Against a man who was under 170lbs.

    You
I think most are aware of Fitzsimmons weight. He's the lightest ever HW champion.

    Disengenous?

You did the exact same thing when I said he came from behind to knock Corbett out.

There's nothing disingenuous about it. That's a flow of conversation.

Jack Sharkey was down 15+ times and KO'd by people who don't hit as hard as Ftiz, but such facts don't matter to you. Fitz was known to understate his weight. Either way, Fitz would KO Jack Sharkey who should have lost officially 16 times, and was beaten by no name's.

To be fair to Sharkey if Dempsey didn't him in the balls and then cream him with a left hook while Shreky was talking to the ref about his dirty tactics, he might have won that fight!

Johnson seldom fought punchers in their primes, he did meet Gunboat Smith and exhibition ( 1909 ) The novice Smith who was approxamtely 185 pounds TKO'd him silly. Ketchel hurt Johnson and marked him up despite landing little. Read Johnson own words and take not the press at hand says Johnson was dazzled when the fight ended. Which other punchers did Johnson meet in their prime? Names please. Here come the part where you run away....

Essentially three super middles in Choynski, Ketchel, and O'Brien, KO'd, knocked down and outboxed the heavyweight champion of the world. Now, do you still want to talk about 170 pound guys? LOL.
