By not having sponsorships when he hit the big time?

And how badly do you think it effected his popularity? How much more popular could he have been had he had sponsors than he is right now?

Floyd appears to like his own schedule. I cannot imagine Mayweather compromising his boxing for the sake of some sponsorship. Whatever Floyd has done, has worked. I think getting away from Arum was more important than any sponsorship deal.

Never really thought of it but you are right, no sponsorships. I think Floyd does his own thing and is happy with that. He is not a "sell out" per say.

TBH, Floyd isn't really the type of person you'd want promoting your product, would you? Given his attitude outside of the ring.

Floyd doesn't have sponsorship for the same reason that he hit the big time. His personality/character. Companies don't want to sponsor him for the same reason that people tune in to see him lose.

So none. He has missed out on no money. In fact by behaving the way he does (whether intentional or not, it's a big part of why people watch his fights) he's consistently been the highest payed sports personality in the world for at least half a decade.

I don't care on how much money he missed out on and at this point I doubt mayweather does either

Pacquiao was making 4-5 million a year off of his endorsements circa 2011. After his knockout by Marquez and year long layoff a lot of them expired and he's only making about 1 million a year now. All told, I don't think he's made much more than about 20 million dollars in his career off of endorsements. So if Mayweather had endorsements he might have made 20-30 million dollars, the same as Pacquiao. Basically, about the same kind of money they could make off of having one extra fight.

Which ignores that if Floyd behaved in a way that made him desirable as an endorsement, there is no way in hell he would be making $40m a fight. It's his brash personality along with his aura of invincibility that makes him the star he is.

A nice guy like Ward, who although has the tools, will never be the star that Mayweather is- and it's not Mayweathers in the ring style/performances where the difference lies.

He didn't have sponsorship long before he was a convicted woman beater. The guy is a grade A as.shole.

He is a convicted woman beater yes, but that just goes along with his D.ickhead personality. Which is part of the reason he is the star he is.

If he did have sponsors they'd drop him the minute he's sued or in jail.

Whats the reason behind him having no sponsorship? Is it genuinly through choice (Wants to promote brand TMT) or is it due to him being arrested/hitting his ex girlfriend?

I know he has previously held sponsorship (Reebok) and he enjoys the lime light (Dancing with the stars/Red carpet for **** films).

Guys like Tyson, Tiger Woods etc have done prison/scandals etc and they are endorsed to the hilt.
