How many more times does Hrgovic have to be ducked before he becomes mandatory?

Because Hrgovic is an Olympic medalist and he has a higher win IBF ranking, those are the rules, for anybody.

Does the raw purse matter that much if you believe you can win and it gets you a title shot? What did Hunter's fight against Jerry Forrest pay him? He didn't get a title shot for that robbery. Sorry, I mean he wouldn't have, if he would have one.

Forty percent of what? What is his promoter putting up to make this mythical fight?

Boxing is a business. Yes it matters what you get paid. It’s how you pay your bills.

The fighters will make more for the IBF eliminator match than ANY offered. Who is Parker, Hunter, and Ortiz fighting next and what is the purse? They are guaranteed a title shot for the winner. ( more money )

    How much?

What exactly is their 40%, as in 40% of what?

How much is Hamburger’s promoter bidding for this?

If Flip’s team isn’t making offers, they aren’t being turned down. So they’re the ones ducking as much as anyone else.

(And has the IBF literally said ‘anyone who will fight Flip Hamburger in an eliminator is cool with us, just find a guy?’)

He brings a mandatory world title fight with a huge payday, if your boy Parker wasn't too much of a fainthearted Nancy to fight and defeat him.

There are far richer and more high-profile ways for Parker to get a title fight.

Those ways will make BOTH $$$$$'s and sense.

    Hrgovic, sadly, does not.

I agree that it's the split that is making this fight unattractive to any fighter with a name and certain purse expectations. However, whilst I suspect Parker has been planning to go the WBO route, potentially against Joyce. They should probably be concerned that Lawrence Okolie the WBO cruiserweight champion has been making noise about moving up, which going by past actions would insert him in front of both Joyce, Parker or whoever as the next WBO mandatory.

Back to Hrgovic though, how on earth is it so difficult for the IBF to send out some letters, go down their top 10 and make a fight. It's unfortunately that Zhang is just outside their top 10 (at number 13) as he has been very vocal about wanting the fight. It's almost like they are trying to stall things enough to see if Ortiz hand heals or Joshua would be interest if he loses to Usyk a second time. It feels like the issue is one of the IBF's own creation, especially as they chose to rank Hrgovic at #3 making him the A-side of any potential splits (barring Ortiz).

Looks like Hrgovic will have to wait even longer for someone to grow the stones to step in with him. It's unbelieveable that fighting Hrgovic is a clear path to a title shot, yet no one wants it. The IBF should just make Hrgovic the mandatory. This ducking stuff is nonsense.

Probably a lot of "ducking" that we see is due to stuff like this.

No Top-5 fighter will fight for peanuts - and neither should they

Parker has all kinds of options - and ways of getting his shot.

Lots of back n forth here. That one by Boon on p1 was as comical as it was sad. Like a hissy fit by an early teens girl.
His point #2 Dillian Whyte not getting a title shot for years is a MUCH more compelling argument than your daddy Hrgovic, who actually has no argument to make whatsoever at this moment in time.

Daddy Dillian was recently smoked by an smaller, 40+ y/o HW well past his prime. Big bro Whyte went life & death 2X with Chisora with many thinking the first fight was a draw or edged by Chisora. The only reason Whyte is a (slightly) more compelling argument than Hrgovic is that DW has been around longer. DW also has high $$$ standards having turned down a good payday vs. AJ and now acting fussy about facing Fury (or wherever the latest is on that saga).

The fact is once many of these HWs get a bit of a name, they fight about once a year - if the risk is low or they get a big payday.
They act more like merger and acquisition MBAs than fighters  If Filip is such a hype job then why is he being ducked by supposedly top HWs? :shakehead:

Hrgovic is being avoided - make him a mandatory.

He is being avoided because he earns the "CHAMP" split of any revenue

Thus no big name will fight him.

If you were the Beatles, would you play Shea stadium for $200 ? - Same thing.

Parker fights around 3 times per year - and he gets $$$$$'s rewarded

If the Beatles had to play a battle of the bands at Shia for 200 in order to make 50,000,000 they would do it without two seconds thought because they're not afraid of getting their skull smashed in by Hrgovic at a battle of the bands.

    Yawn

    OK - when you're a top-5 fighter

we will see how keen you are to fight for the IBF "mandatory" for $2.50

When you have other better options available

Hrgovic should fight someone like DuBois then who is damaged goods and will accept a lower split for a chance to move up the rankings.

I give Triple D a real shot as he gives Hrgovic power to respect. Hrgovic knocks out Triple D in a few rounds he starts to look the part.
