He may already be in the last stages of his prime, actually -- I'd say within 1 - 2 years.

I beleive that he has lost focus when it comes to his career. Yeah he is making a ton of money and he is more famous than practically any fighter not named golden shower..uhum boy.

But he is riding high on all of his current success and focused on making money not to woried about being a great fighter. There is an old saying that says "use it or loose it" and Floyd lost his focus and his prime will follow over the next couple of years and he will be beat.

29 years and 11 months exactly. 16 bouts with Oscar De La Hoya, 55 with big show and one with Arturo Gatti.

Totally agree with you about his focus.

I think he is still to me in his prime he doesnt drink, etc. But as you say he is more focused on making money than making history. I think this is evident whilst taking on Hatton. In Hatton he had a good fighter who brought the exciting style, fans and therefore money needed whilst also being beatable. Same with De la Hoya, he brings the $$$ to the table therefore Mayweather wants the fight.

Now a fighter who was bothered about his legacy in the history of boxing would have fought Tszyu instead of Gatti and would be fighting/ calling out Cotto.

But i still think Mayweather is one of them talents that only come around every 20years

I agree he is an amazing athlete and a rare breed of fighter. He does things in that ring that no one else can do. But you need to hone those skills and keep sharp especially once you start aging.

I'd say at least a couple more years of prime but he may have another five years of superiority. Floyd keeps himself in excellent shape at all times. Doesn't balloon up in weight like a lot of fighters. And he doesn't have any bad habits like drinking or smoking.

Even at a diminished level he's going to be better than just about everyone else for quite a while.

The Fishnet is more likely to age a few years (going from merely past his prime to shot) than Floyd is to get old overnight.
