i think this is best upperbody conditioning for a boxer works so manyupperbody muscles involved in punching, and so hard to do especially if you weigh a lot,
basically its a pull up and a dip but in one motion.

You cant say its the best conditioning movement for boxers when its only using half of the body, boxers need strong legs for a good foundation to punch from, stamina and strength when in the ring, when your legs are ****ed so is your footwork. boxers are missing out if theyre training half of their body.

That's training the least important part of your body, the upper body provides very little power in a punch.
Doing these is more coordination than anything anyway, you can see how much momentum this guy is using. Better off doing pull ups and dips by themselves with good technique in my opinion.

I'd love to be able to do them.

To those who can, is it purely a strength thing? Or once the technique clicked did you find you were strong enough to do a few reps?

I'm of average strength, but I'm probably about 25% body fat and I reckon I'd have to lose about half of that to give myself some hope. Then losing weight means losing strength, so I dunno which way to go. Any tips? Any ways of practising (starting from a raised platform or something?)?

Lose the fat then build back up slowly. You may be strong but that doesn't mean much if you can't use it (outside of the gym) or you're not healthy. 25% body fat is fairly high.

this move is a combination of strenght technique and good balance and momentum, most people cannot do them

Its not just a pull up and a dip, a regular pull up would never get you over the bar

Yeah, it's higher than I'm comfortable with to be honest. I'm going to do some running/punchbag cardio. Mind you, I've been saying that for years.

I seen some dude jogging wearing a gas mask and I thought he was ******ed. Then I seen him in the gym, still wearing the gas mask for his whole work out, and he was doing muscle ups, which is the first I seen someone doing that in person, he was pretty big too or atleast not super slim. So yeah after that, I didnt think he was ******ed anymore:lol:

Yeah I've tried them and it's the transition between pull-up and dip that's the hard bit. I can probably do 6 pull-ups and 10 dips, so those parts of the move would be fine for a single rep, it's the bit in between.

they are very impressive, life one armed chin ups ect ect. THey look the business and i started training for OAC same as muscle up you pretty much have to train it specially. However after a while i started to think its alot of time and at the end of it you are able to do one exercise, as impressive as it is its just an exercise , a tool to a goal not the goal itself for me. So i decided to spend time elsewhere
