I don't really care about finding out who has all the alphabet bodie's belts, I'll list who I consider to be real champions.

    Tommy Burns
    Max Schmeling
    Primo Carnera
    Ingemar Johansson
    Lennox Lewis
    Wladimir Klitschko

My list of American champions is also a little shorter than most.

I will give the organization listed in my signature more credability in their champions, if they update often enough.

    Britain has produced 2

    Canada has produced 1

Germany has produced 1 (should have been 2 when Shultz fought Foreman)

    Italy has produced 1

    Sweden has produced 1

Bad verdict. I felt really bad for Schultz that night.

By the way, the list would be a bit different if all the fights hadn't been staged in the US.

Good point, Schulz is often overlooked. Decent contender, had a pretty close fight with Moorer too if memory serves me well. Was he the one Foreman dropped his title for and payed 25.000 to fight an even lesser skilled opponent?

I wonder when Holland will produce its first heavyweight champ. I had my hopes on Richel Hersisia.
When i found out his nickname was "The Dutch Sonny Liston", i lost half my hope.
I lost the other half when he lost in 4 to Audley Harrison.

Does this mean you exclude Fitzsimmons?

Strongly disagree Schultz was very very ordinary IMO.

Yes he had an unlucky decision loss with a 46 year old man...

Makes up for the out out robbery when Henry Akinwande had to make do with a 'draw' in their first fight. And that was not so much an unlucky decision as to be so much biased towards Schultz that it could be considered sinister...

Schultz was on par with a Tangsted, Eklund or Zanon IMO.

Not sure on that, I think Jeff would have still beating Fitz, no matter were they fought.

Baer would have hammer Carnea in pretty much the same way. And Louis may have still goting the win over Tommy Far, also he still destorys Schemling.

Marciano would have still beating Cockell.

Ali had his fights with Cooper over seas.

Holyfiled also would have won, and Tyson still would have ko Brouno.

Axel should have claimed for damages, he probably has a great case following the IBF investigation admissions a few years ago....

Bob W Lee allowed everyone to line his pockets......

Good looking out, Duodenum. I didn't even think of him for some reason.

    My list should have said:

    Bob Fitzsimmons
    Tommy Burns
    Max Schmeling
    Primo Carnera
    Ingemar Johansson
    Lennox Lewis
    Wladimir Klitschko

You can also make an argument for Frank Bruno. He did beat McCall after Mcall defeated Lewis. I didn't really consider Lewis to be the dominant champion at that time. I think Lewis went on to prove all time great status as a heavyweight; but I was considering the real championship to reside with Holyfield, then Bowe, then Holyfield, and so on.

Thats because Holyfiled beat Douglas,(Who beat Tyson. who beat Spinks, Holmes ete)

Thats WHY the real title went to Holyfiled, than Bowe, than back to Evander, than onto Moore, Foreman and Briggs. Than Lewis.

I was referring to the fact that the US seemed to have carte blanche over venues, irrespective of nationality, i.e. A Nigerian fighting a Ukranian in the States. If, say, France had all the fight money in the 20th century, then you'd have seen a few different champs. Some people don't travle as well as others.
