We’re all entitled to our opinions but this list verges on trolling...

50/50 with Hagler, Monzon, Jones Jr?

Golovkin has no one on his ledger, who is even remotely comparable to anyone in that list. He’s only faced two genuinely world class opponents; both going the distance; both yielding results, which could have easily gone against him.

There really is no evidence-based rationale for him competing at the elite level. Only a committed ‘belief’ or a penchant for dry humor could drive such speculations.

I don't think any middle beats a prime GGG "easily."

I think that depends on what one means by "easily" and against what we're using to benchmark that.

For mine, Golovkin presents a distance fight, save for any facial damage he suffers, sufficient to stop the fight. Golovkin hasn't faced anything near the level of quality on the list, but has proven to be easy to hit and fairly predictable in his approach. His two actual world class contests have resulted in close scoring, which lends itself to the idea that elite level boxers, who could push the envelope, could fare much better.

I don't think it's a stretch to suggest that the quality of the guys in the list is of a level good enough for many of them to earn wide UDs and for several of them to deliver enough damage to stop Golovkin. And, in any event, a long night is not something that would bother most of these guys.

Well if Triple G. Fought Anyone near the talent or toughness of the fighters listed we could create a scenario. But his best competition was S.Alvarez, a natural Jr.Middle whom he fought to a draw. Same Alvarez that was given a boxing lesson by a natural Jr. Lightweight fighting at welter Mayweather jr. The rest of his competition would've been considered journeyman in past era's. All the fighters listed beat somebody who was somebody. Triple G?

OR he's fighting the best outside of his prime and still has his title. The GGG that out landed Canelo in 10 of 12 rounds ( 1 round even ) and Jacobs, wasn't nearly as good as the same guy 3-4 years ago.

No. I prefer my theory better, thanks.

Incidentally: Gennady Golovkin 160 lbs drew with Saul Alvarez 160 lbs by SD...

    ...in case you'd forgotten.

The Jacobs bout could have gone either way, as well.

Funny how going up in class can make you grow old over night. I'm sure Hopkins was thinking that same thing when, at aged 36, he dismantled undefeated Felix Trinidad to become undisputed Middleweight Champion of the World.... ... .. .
