Cut the bull****, just be honest.

Don't put yourself as of RIGHT NOW in his shoes. Obviously a

****ing college kid or high school kid will quit in a fight asap with a broken jaw. As will most people..

But say you are a elite level boxer in Victor's situation.

Got good money, but not great money, BUT YOU ARE ON YOUR WAY to great money against Canelo.

Downside is Lopez was turning it on and you might be seriously hurt.

    Will you quit?

For me it depends on several things

1- If I was broke and needed the Canelo pay day.

If i was, I fight on

2- If I had a grudge against Lopez and hated him

If I hate him I'll fight on.

If I wasn't broke and don't need a payday and If I don't hate Lopez

    I'm quitting

I'd have probably considered quitting but it would depend mostly on how much the pain was. But, also I would have understood there was no next payday fight because of me being injured. I most likely would have given it one more round and tried to go for broke.

Ya I think that is a huge point people missed out on.

If Victor had millions in his bank, and didn't waste it I can understand him just quitting. That is too big of a risk

But If he was going broke, and that Canelo mega fight was on the horizon that is a huge waste

if I had a big payday fight on the horizon that I talked myself into coming off of the loss with Mayweather like that and knowing that I quit before that. with only 3 rounds left.
considering all of the hard work that I put in but not only myself my trainer my conditioning coach as well, I would if anything give them a minimum of one more round.
I would go back let them know I think my jaw is busted, await instructions and see if my trainer has the right adjustment to get me through if not I can see calling it a day but give your ****ing corner the opportunity to adjust the game plan to pull it out Vic could have boxed, he could have simply jabbed his way through, Lopez had given him that ground Ortiz just dont have it in him to challenge himself

Yeah, I'd quit, because I'd make a shitty "pro elite fighter" and I know it.

I'm not a warrior, and neither is Victor Ortiz.

This. If he couldn't close his mouth then how the hell was he supposed to fight ? And it seems like he had another injury as well.

Canelo fight would be off anyway as his jaw would have bee f'ed if he managed to survive 3 more rounds...

None of us can never know until we step into the ring as a pro. Only a handful here ever have.

    He quit. **** Ortiz.

I quit almost everything I've done in my life, but I'm not an elite boxer on the verge of a huge payday who also has many doubters that I want to disprove...

Unless you've actually fought in the ring with a broken jaw, sternum or both I don't think anybody is qualified to say. I think I'd let it be known to my corner I don't really want to continue, then let them stop it. Either that or take a dive. **** fighting with those injuries. Boxing is a sport at the end of the day. The idea that fighters should be willing to die in the ring is bull****- die for what? Money? Legacy? Neither are as important as life

True but even so, I can't picture Floyd quitting in the ring, just saying.
