    this.

these dummies think a "broken jaw" is like being a little tired and simply quitting because you dont have the will to gut it out. they also think a fractured jaw/broken jaw are the same across the board in terms of just how broken it is. you have severe broken jaws, and other may only be hairline cracks. people are so stupid on these boards. if anyone knows anything, seeing him spit that glob of thick red goop out of his mouth in the dressing room tells you that its pretty severe..

This is why you aren't a fighter.

A lot of us are fighters, in and out of the ring, but many warriors past and present would disagree with that statement.

    Take a dive? GTFO.

not to mention his type of injury cannot be seen from the outside, a cut on the eye lid he wouldnt even have to bring up, but internal ones only the fighter knows about ...let these dumb ****s go back and watch mcclellan vs benn and see what hapens when your corner people dont spot a major problem first

    ^ This.

    Fricking keyboard warriors.

The Canelo fight was over anyway, but by quitting, he probably still has a chance at Canelo in a year. If he kept fighting, he could have been out for several years.

Plus, I genuinely think Lopez had his number at that point as was about to really take him apart. I think Ortiz knew this as well. It looks better, record-wise, to lose due to a broken jaw while ahead on the cards, than to lose by a clear KO.

If you're an elite pro athlete, than a broken anything could very easily cause you to lose your composure, and to sends waves of panic coursing through you.

The fighter in my avatar, Genero Hernandez suffered a broken nose to DLH when they fought and quit on his stool. Yet he gutted out a victory over Nelson after being Ko'd by a shot to the neck after the bell had ended. Same fighter, different injuries. So, we can't accuse Ortiz of being mentally weak because of the injuries he sustained in the ring, because we weren't the ones that were dealing with them.

That said, the fact that Victor clocked Josesito in the back of the head when things started getting out of hand is something that indicates a lack of composure, and I do feel it's appropriate to criticize him for this behavior.

Awesome comment mate, you must be a professional fighter yourself who has fought through numerous broken bones enroute to victory... Right?

Nobody knows how they will react to a bad injury mid-fight... 99.9% of individuals can't even take the mental pressure of fighting, never mind having the endurance to fight through a broken jaw... I'd like to see how you react under that situation.

A lot of people talk the talk, very very few walk the walk.

Exactly this, and it's ridiculous to say otherwise.
